My dear friend Andy, while you didn’t know her, one of my wonderful customers came in today, proclaiming “she toasted to Andy on Christmas Day!” I instantly remembered she purchased a set of your beautiful Red Ruby stemware she planned to use during the holidays.

I simply love my Cottage Gallery customers! It was so sweet of her to toast to you on Christmas, a person she never met, yet she knew from my backstory how much you and Jane loved the holiday.

I was touched today by her visit, her generosity and her kindness as she shared with me the new tradition she established in your honor. I gave her a great BIG hug for remembering you - and for making my day.

Cottage Gallery closed early today. This is the second time in two weeks. A week ago, we closed at 2 pm, as did one of our neighbors. Business has been slim to non existent downtown, due to detour signs, directing motorists to turn at the light.

While locals know Front Street is not closed to through traffic until the far side of the downtown, many of our customers coming in from Decatur and elsewhere do not.

With high gas prices, we are already concerned what the next few months will bring. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
