One of the projects I've been working on. I've some grayer fabric with slightly greener, mossier-looking fabric that I'm also thinking of using to make these guys. They're sort of pebble-like, so for the moment I'm calling them 'Rockles.'

Baby's favorite is the baby Earth Dragon, but firstborn prefers the more complicated (naturally) baby Poison Dragon. I tried to make Suzy Sumac as identical to the baby poison dragon in the game as possible--though I did leave out the neurotoxin on the tail spike.

So, the kids are into Dragonvale, a game that Harry plays on the iPod touch that he got with points at work. The baby dragons are adorable, and the kids wanted to know why they make Angry Birds plush, but not Dragonvale babies.

Well. THEY don't. But _I_ do.

Meet Dusty, the baby Earth Dragon: 10 inches of squishy, cuddly, fleece & fluff. [Which in the game would grow up to be twenty tons of spiked, sandstorm-breathing, 'Whoa-that's-one-huge-dragon' :) ]

I've had the idea for this Earth creature for years--ever since I discovered a small agate 'stone donut' whose center just happened to look like an eye. That piece formed the focal point of the one-eyed earth creature mask; other components include deerhide scraps, various stone and glass beads, and old fur scraps. A variety of leaf, sand, and pebble-themed fabrics form the costume.

Now that Mission: Minion shirts is accomplished, I will proceed to the puppets I promised Sister P. But as for the project after that--I may try a few rag dolls, as the nice lady we met at Sea World suggested. [Ruby and Penny gained favorable notice, just as their little humans so often do. :) ]
