For the festival pop-up last weekend I wanted to have something interactive that captured people’s attention longer than just a quick look. I came up with a free ‘Affirmation Station’ where people could sit down, look themselves in the eyes and either say an affirmation that they already had or choose one from the books I provided. I also provided postcards sourced from a super bitchin artist so they could then write down their affirmation and mail it to themselves as a reminder next week. The impact was phenomenal! There were people that broke down sobbing. There was laughter and joy. And just about everyone that did it gave me a hug afterwards. (and if you know me, I’m really not a hugger, but I allowed it because it was some powerful stuff!) More than 80 people came through our little station... 🥰
We are mean as f**k to ourselves on the regular. Take some time today to look yourself in the eyes and say something nice —& let those words go directly to your heart. Xo
