Patience, love, self-trust, compassion, and charity have found me on my road to becoming.
The little girl I once was is still here, living in me today. The hopes and dreams I dared, and sometimes feared to reach for as a child are much the same as those I whisper to myself now. The struggles I face and the fears she carried have not changed.
On this path, I have learned to give these parts of me the love and support they need. I celebrate my triumphs and honor my losses. I sit with myself and with God and say, “Let us try again.”
In my practice and with my students, we often reflect on the moments when we feel we have not shown up as we hoped, the way our little selves or even our Souls long for.
And yet, as we walk this road, we discover that meeting ourselves where we are, offering grace and compassion for our stumbles, transforms mistakes into opportunities. Opportunities to grow, to lean into God, to gain perspective, to breathe, and to try again. Here, we find charity.
On the road to becoming, I have found a deeper love for the girl I was and for the woman I am today. I am grateful for each moment and for the chance to move forward with joy in the journey.
I am thankful to get to share pieces of this journey with all of you.
