The Old Sew 'n Sew Sewing/Embroidery (threads) and, 3-D printing (filaments) provide pleasure, therapy, and a little spare change for me.

My products are available online as well as Gathered Goods, in Davenport IA and Makers Market in Dubuque IA. As a child, I often sat watching my mother work at her old Singer sewing machine as she made many of the clothes for her seven children. I was fascinated by the “magic” of the needle and thread forming stitches which held the fabric together. Over 65 years later that fascination has bloomed

, resulting in The Old Sew ‘n Sew. Today my products are sold in the Riverfront Marketplace, in Clinton IA, as well as in the Maker’s Market, a large consignment store in Dubuque IA. In addition I do a select number of craft and vendor shows each year, and — I sell my products, on line. I hope you enjoy browsing my shop and find that you find something you will enjoy! For those interested in such things, I use four different machines for my work. For strictly sewing I have a Husqvarna Viking Opal. For embroidery/sewing (though not often used for sewing) I have the Husqvarna Viking Topaz 50 and the Epic II. My fourth machine is my girlfriend who turns and trims items that need turning and trimming! In addition, I use Janome, Madiera Rayon and Madiera PolyNeon thread for almost all my work except for the microwavable bowl cozees and potato bags in which case I use Gutterman Cotton. Most of my fabrics (and I have more than I can ever hope to use in my stash) came from Joann Fabrics and Hobby Lobby. My kids will have to decide what to do with it all after I am gone! For creating and editing embroidery designs I am using the Platinum mySewnet software!

Made this 3D globe light on the printer. Uses USB connection, variable light intensity with three shades, White, Blue, Sepia. I think it's pretty neat!
