The Outer Banks Candle Company is a locally owned candle studio and retail shop located at the Waterfront Shops in Duck, North Carolina. We hand-pour all-natural candles inspired by life on the Outer Banks, featuring coastal favorites and seasonal fragrances. Visit us in store to shop candles, vintage vessels, home décor, and gifts or join us for hands-on candle making classes where you can create

your own custom candle. We welcome families (ages 5+ with adult supervision), private groups, and friends for special occasions. Beyond our Duck storefront, we offer online shopping, Candle of the Month subscription boxes, wholesale candles for retailers, custom candles for events and weddings, and nationwide shipping. If you are visiting the Outer Banks or shopping from home, we are honored to help you bring a little coastal warmth and glow into your life.

The perfect night out doesn’t exi…. Oh wait! It does!! 🤗 When we opened our store in the we knew we would be in for some great sunsets. As we decided on our candle class schedule we thought It would be a great idea to hold evening classes so people could make their candle then enjoy dinner & a show along the boardwalk 🌅

We are ready to celebrate 250 years of America here at The Outer Banks Candle Company! 🇺🇸 Our themed table is decked out in some of our finest red white and blue antiques, dish towels and more. And how special it is to be in Duck for this celebration ❤️🤍💙 The Town of Duck has an annual Fourth of July parade taking place THIS FRIDAY! And then while you’re up here pop by for a candle making class (4 & 5PM) or to shop our fun Fourth collection 😉

In the case of this sweet little beach box MORE IS MORE! 😍 For years we have featured this house (among many others) as we’ve highlighted Outer Banks architecture and charm. When we opened the store we knew we needed to make this beach box part of our product line up.

Thanks to Meg Rubino with we have this beach box on some adorable notecards! And we were even able to adapt it to be featured on our new Outer Banks Candle Company merch ☺️

You’ll have to walk a little slower than this though 😆 Your candle takes an hour to dry from the end of your class which means you can enjoy the Duck Town Boardwalk as it winds through native landscapes and offers some of the best shopping and dining Duck has to offer. Make sure to stop at Duck Town Park on your way which features a playground, Ampitheater, picnic areas and various town events on the lawn! The boardwalk is also known for its amazing sunsets!

We are so lucky to be located in the Waterfront Shops which starts the Northern part of the boardwalk.

We love walking the beach and collecting tiny treasures! But we often find ourselves in a rabbit hole Internet search to identify the shells we had collected. It was a long time dream of ours to create an Outer Banks shell guide that helped people learn the names of the most commonly found shells along our coast. After years of planning and researching for our blog posts, we were thrilled that local artist Meg Rubino agreed to make our idea come to fruition!

Introducing the Outer Banks Shell Guide! 🐚 Perfect for decorating beach rentals, as a gift for shell lovers or bringing a little piece of Outer Banks magic home with you.

Available in our shop as a print alone or framed in our signature recycled wood frames!

That’s right! We carry loads of candles up and down those stairs everyday 😅 but we are so thankful for this space! When we opened the shop we knew we needed a retail portion AND a candle making area. It was a huge blessing to land in this spot at the where we can both make and sell our candles. The candle making space also holds storage, a small office area and our shipping center. Can you believe we used to do ALL of this in a small backyard studio? 😆

Classes are about 45 minutes long and your candle takes only an hour to dry which means we offer same day/next day pick up!
