**Finding My Way Through the Struggles of Lupus – Seeking Help**
On April 22, I experienced something that turned my life upside down. It started with chest pain, which led me to the hospital, where I woke up from a seizure—completely bewildered. Since that day, I've had four more seizures and a multitude of complications. My body is fighting against me, as I’ve developed rashes, my tongue has swollen, and I’ve been dealing with thrush in both my tongue and tonsils.
In August, I was told there’s a possibility I may have lupus, but my visit to a rheumatologist was disheartening. Rather than addressing my symptoms and concerns, the doctor dismissed my situation and left me feeling unheard and unsupported.
Over the past 10 months, I've watched my body and mind change drastically. The fight for a proper diagnosis and treatment feels like an uphill battle. I'm reaching out because I need help finding a Black female doctor who specializes in lupus and accepts my insurance or has flexible billing options.
I’m not writing this for empathy or sympathy; I’m asking for assistance. If you know of anyone in the DMV area, please reach out. I’m feeling lost and disappointed, but I am incredibly grateful for my wife’s unwavering support through this challenging journey.
Thank you all in advance for your help 💜
