September 2026 Newsletter -- Connie’s Collectibles & Quilt Shop
Can you believe it, summer is almost over? Where did the time go? Looks like lots happening in the fall, get your calendar out & see what you can participate in??
Events: New Germany Festival Sept 19 & 20th Summerhill (near Ebensberg) I am going as a vendor & there is so much to see at this festival Crafts & Food
**Indiana Quilt Show Sept 26 9-4pm at a Barn, 717 Stutzman Road, Indiana The Indiana Quilt Guild is displaying close to 100 quilts & there are going to be 8 vendors there selling quilting items. Planning on being a vendor at this show, has been popular in the past. Also, food trucks planned for your lunch.
**Challenge quilt showing. Those that have participated in the Theme Challenge, we are having the judging/show & tell on Sept. 14, 6pm at The Dream Restaurant. Welcome to attend, even if you did not do a quilt, just so you let me know. To have correct reservations.
***FALL RETREAT - Got the date !!!! November 6, 7, & 8 We always have a lot of fun!! Sewing your unfinished projects & have classes schedule every day. There are games, socialization & food galore. 3 day retreat, you can stay overnight or drive each day. As many days as you choose. Held at LAUREL LODGE, DUNCANSVILLE. Can sign up now & details will follow, when I get classes scheduled.
**Thank-you to all that participated in the Mid-Atlantic Shop in July & August. Always fun to see quilters from all the states & get their stickers.
**Country Roads Shop Hop will be in October, I am not participating as a shop, but I will be open & hope you still visit the shop Planning on having sales & drawings that week. Has been a pleasure in years past to have you visit.
Classes for this month:
Sept 4 6:00pm Friday Evening Sew (Sip & Sew) Evening of fun to sew any projects you want or request. Usually food & lots of sharing of ideas. Join for evening out to sew…
Sept 8 11:00 Tues, Having the Necktie Quilt class again. Do you have ties you want to make something ? There is a Dresden Necktie quilt that is good to make. Bring your ties & we will make a quilt out of them Quilt hanging in the shop to see.
Sept 10 11:00 Thurs. (Block of the month of applique is 2nd thurs of each month) This month planning to make a fall square or wall hanging maybe a scarecrow or leaves. Each month will be a different subject to get ready for the next holiday.
Sept. 23 11:00 Wed. Making a wallhanging & embellish them with silk petals. Many different patterns & ideas that can be sewed for wallhanging with silk petals to attach. Different idea to try.
Sept. 29 11:00 Tues T-shirt quilt class if you have wanted to learn to make a t-shirt quilt, bring your shirts, will put interfacing on them & sew together to make a great memory quilt.
Childs Class for sewing----we took a break over the summer, but need to get the kids sewing again. Always fun to see what they accomplish. If you know of a child that want to join the kids sew. Please call me with their name.
Fundamental, beginner sew class. Plan on starting this in October. Need some sign ups for anyone that want to join this group. Will meet monthly after the 1st class, to make projects every month. Call & sign up…
Regular events for each month:
**Quilts of Valor sew is the 1st sat. of each month. This month—Sept. 5 11:00 Have red, white, blue fabric to sew quilts for the veterans, Come & join the sewing group. Great volunteers that quilt, sew binding, & sew labels on quilts when getting ready to present.to veterans.
**Block of the Month: should be the last gathering of this block of the month. They have been doing a good job of getting their blocks sewed together. Lori Holt blocks with Riley Blake fabric. Really looking great!
**HANDI QUILTER NEWS!!! Great promotion. August & now Sept, 30% off any longarm purchase, also, zero interest for 12 months. This is the biggest discount Handi quilter has had Great time to buy a longarm, if you want to get those tops quilted!!
Continue to offer the longarm class, that you can take & then come & rent the machines to quilt your tops. If you don’t want to quilt, I can customize your quilting for you
Eric continues to offer machine service for domestic & longarm machines. He will sharpen your scissors or knives, if needed.
Printing photos on fabric for you to add to quilts to personalize them, email the photos & can be printed for you.
