This text from Matthew 5, the Message translation, is SO GOOD! It’s a command and a challenge to live out.

I feel like we are seeing more evidence that it’s hard to genuinely love people; to do good by them no matter who they are.

I understand...there are so many things making us each other’s enemies. Many things cause us to shake our head in disgust at what we see and hear in the world.

But, do we walk around with hardness and hate in our heart because everyone is seemingly our opponent?

When it’s easy to discard the unlovable, remember the grace and love that God has extended to you...offer that instead.

That’s the love that Jesus gave. His love took on every sin. By his shed blood, it covers every offense we commit against God and reconciles us to Himself.

Intentional....a word that I’ve been focusing on lately.

Since our family has expanded, I’ve taken thought to how I needed to “show up” and structure my day so that I can serve them better.

One thing I’ve chosen is to be intentional about being present.

As a full time wife and mother, it’s been easy to take for granted being present because I’m always “here.”

But to serve my family well means that I am intentional about making sure that I am attentive without getting lost in thought, distractions or daily duties.
