A delayed announcement—but good news is always worth sharing.

On March 13, 2018, we officially marked 8 years as leather artisans… and completely forgot to celebrate.

So, better late than never.

To everyone who’s been part of this journey—thank you! The support of all the Lambert Families has been wonderful! Special mentions go out to Mom, Sarah, the shop kids, Bobby, Robnar the Viking King, the Rams Head crew, The Pirate Crew of the Silver Moon, Knights of the New Order, Neil the Natural Viking, The HollyGroveMercs, The Rogues, Watchcat the Warrior (Daisy)—and so many others who’ve supported us along the way.

We wouldn’t be here without you!

Over the past eight years, we’ve grown from working off tiny foldable tables to becoming well-established resident artists at the Michigan Renaissance Festival and having our own studio space.

From 2018 to 2022, we lived on the road—hauling belts, buckles, and keychains to small venues wherever we could, especially as the world reopened after quarantine.

From 2023 to 2025, things expanded quickly. What started small has grown into a Great Lakes–sized operation, with a strong network of business-to-business partnerships. Today, we offer more than 40 handcrafted leather products, all made from top- or full-grain vegetable-tanned leather.

And we’re not done yet.

We’re preparing to fill our downtown Durand location with our goods once renovations are complete. While there is no firm timeline for opening at 203 W. Main Street, keep an eye out this season for a bit of meaningful change at our studio....

Thank you for being part of the story. We are looking forward to the next chapter.

Fresh from the bench and still smelling like honest work — a new batch of pouches has just been brought to life.

Each one is hand-cut, hand-stitched, and steeped in a bit of Celtic soul and Renaissance flair. Built to hold your daily essentials… or whatever treasures you happen to acquire along your travels (we don’t ask questions).

We’re giving our Facebook patrons first pick before these find their way onto the website. So if one of these speaks to you, best grab it before it wanders off into someone else’s belt loop.

Fair warning: these pouches age better than most people and develop more character with every adventure.

Claim yours while the leather is still young and the stock is still full.

We came, we saw, we belted out a fantastic weekend at the Michigan Nordic Fire Festival

Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by, tried on some leather, and helped us prove that yes — a good belt can make you feel like a Viking chieftain or a Renaissance rogue in under 10 seconds.

We laughed, we traded stories, and we may or may not have convinced a few people that “one more belt” is always a responsible life choice.

Now we’re polishing our buckles, sharpening our wit, and preparing for our next adventure…

⚔️ Catch us at the Alma Scots Festival on May 23rd, 2026! ⚔️

Come for the kilts, stay for the leather, and leave wondering how you suddenly own three belts and a set of jingle bells that you didn’t know you needed.

See you there, you magnificent band of time-travelers.

Sometime ago, the Mercs Guild helped to improve Michigan Renaissance Festival Booth #126

The booth has always been well cared for and only needed minor cosmetic upates. After a fresh paint job and seasonal cleaning, we were ready for our first year at MIRF (2024).

The Mercs are a great group of people. They are always having a good time and keeping vigilant of negativity. The Mercs is a group that ensures that Faire life maintains its uniqueness, positivity and happiness.

Thanks for all the hard work Mercs! Happy to be a member and to encourage the growth of others.

🍀🏰 LEATHER YOU BELIEVE IT OR NOT… WE’RE GOING CELTIC! 🏰🍀

This weekend, the clan (Jesse, Sarah, and Bobby) will be trading their regular gear for kilts (well… maybe just in spirit) at the Saline Celtic Festival! 🏹🪕

⚔️ We’ll be doing LIVE LEATHER DEMOS—yes, that means:
👀 Cutting leather with precision
🎨 Dyeing it like a moody teenager’s hair
🧵 Stitching it tighter than your Aunt Patty’s opinion on haggis

Want to see Jesse slice like a swordmaster? Sarah mix colors like a wizard with a palette? Bobby thread a needle with the intensity of a bagpiper in battle? You leather believe it’s going down!

📍Come find us by the smell of rich leather and faint echoes of “Is that made from dragon hide?”
📅 This weekend @ Saline Celtic Festival
🎯 Live demos, handmade goods, and a healthy dose of questionable Scottish accents

Bring your clan. Bring your curiosity.

🛡️🔥 HEAR YE, HEAR YE! 🔥🛡️

The forges are fired, the hammers are polished, and the leather is primed for glory! July 11th and 12th, we're saddling up and heading to the Michigan Celtic Festival — and trust us, you do not want to miss this.

Your favorite leather-slingers will be there in full Renaissance glory—crafting, stamping, dyeing, and stitching like medieval caffeinated elves. Join us in the artisan village for LIVE leatherworking demos by our legendary trio:

Jesse - Lord of Mayhem -Cutting and tooling. Watch in awe (and slight terror) as he slices full cowhides into perfectly cut straps with the precision of a leather artisan. Watch him cut and whack leather with great force and concentration--the barbarian with a plan

Sarah - Lady of the Dyes - Watch her transform plain leather into glorious shades of antiqued beauty. She’s got more dye on her hands than a toddler at finger painting day – and somehow still makes it look classy.

Bobby -the Stich Witch - threading a needle faster than a bard can find the mead! Stitching leather with the grace of a Celtic bard sewing tales into the fabric of time (and also pouches).

What we’ll be doing:
✅ Stamping (with tools, not our feet... usually)
✅ Hammer swinging (forged with flair)
✅ Dying (leather only — no craftsmen will be harmed)
✅ Stitching (leather items, not drama)

Come for the belts, stay for the bad puns and flying scraps of cowhide! Whether you’re a knight, rogue, bard, or just here for the turkey legs — we’ve got something for every adventurer.

📍 Find us near the clangin’ and bangin’ — Follow the smell of leather and the sounds of laughter.
