What started as a rack became a pile, then a stack of bags. After leaving a difficult chapter two years ago, these pieces quietly accumulated while I kept thrifting and healing. Turns out, the small things matter too. These dresses are finally ready for a new story and will be available on my website 6/19 . Size Small.

Two years ago, I walked away from a business carrying more than inventory. I left with boxes in my hands and a knot in my chest—confused, hurt, and desperate to outrun an experience that left me questioning my judgment and my worth. Some of these pieces have hung untouched on a rack in the corner of my home ever since, quietly collecting dust and reminding me of a chapter I wasn’t ready to face.
I’ve learned there is no power in stuffing pain into dark corners and pretending it no longer exists. Healing begins when we give our hurt a voice, sit with it, and slowly make sense of it. As I prepare for my future work with Black women in therapy, I’m reminded that what we carry for too long can settle into our shoulders, our thoughts, and our spirits, becoming heavier with each passing day.
So I’m letting go—of the dresses, the memories stitched to them, and the pain I no longer need to carry. I’m releasing the story that no longer serves me and making room for what comes next. Starting with dresses and skirts.

Listen.

I heard a pretty big influencer say that
there are no stories a 40+-year-old woman can tell
that anyone will listen to.

That’s a lie.

A wise woman once told me,
if you do the opposite of what everyone feels like you should do,
you’ll probably find the most joy.

Take the risk.
Dive in to that new thing.
Choose the new path.
Lean into your fears.

There’s a kind of joy there
you can’t even hold.
And it’s true.
I learned this by listening—
to women who’ve stood where I’m standing now.

So open your mind and be willing to learn from anyone.
Younger. Older. In between-
You never know what you will learn.

All of these fits / pieces are thrifted and some can be found on the website.

I remember wanting African Village pieces when I was younger…
the textures, the prints, the feeling of them

-never thought I’d find some may good pieces at one time.

and not even for me at first—
a client was looking
and somehow, I found exactly what was needed

Ouuuh this feels know I’m walking in alignment….
what’s meant finds me too.

Some of these pieces are sold. Others will be available on the website soon.
