Terra Clotha will be busy this weekend. On the morning of Saturday, Dec. 6, we will be under the pavilion at the Durham Farmers’ Market as usual during the new winter hours, 9 a.m. to noon. On Sunday, Dec. 7, we will be at the Boylan Heights Artwork, from noon until 5 p.m. Our booth will be at 806 McCulloch (Inside Clean Advertising), which is where we were located last year.

Terra Clotha will not be at the Durham Farmers' Market as usual this Saturday, Nov. 22. Instead, I will be at the 2025 Durham Art Walk Holiday Market on Saturday, Nov. 22, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 23, from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m. I will be in the "Outdoor Marketplace" in the parking lot of the Durham Arts Council, 120 Morris Street, which is where I have set up at this event before. Besides the usual hand-dyed clothing for babies, kids, and adults, I will also be selling copies of The House with the Face on the Chimney, the book I wrote about the Elgin Street mosaic house.

The Durham Art Walk Holiday Market is a festive fine arts and crafts event that kicks off the holiday season in downtown Durham!

Then on Sunday, Nov. 9 I will be at the Watts Hospital-Hillandale Artwalk noon until 5 p.m. I will be at 1301 Alabama Avenue ( #2 on the map), which is where I have set up at this event before. Besides the usual hand-dyed clothing for babies, kids, and adults, I will also be selling copies of The House with the Face on the Chimney, the book about the Elgin Street mosaic house.

This Saturday, March 29, 2025, Terra Clotha will have a scratch and dent sale. There aren’t going to be very many scratches, and it’s really hard to dent soft fabric. So these will be metaphorical scratches and dents. We dye a lot of fabric, and we usually get the result that we’re going for. But sometimes the color is just not right. Often it’s possible to overdye and get an even better color. But occasionally, the color is a dud and nothing will save it. Or we affix the design crookedly. Or the silkscreen dye goes into places that it shouldn’t. Things happen. For adult T-shirts (usually $25), at this sale, we’re asking $10. For kids’ T-shirts (usually $20), at this sale, we’re asking $5. Or make us an offer we can’t refuse. We'll have some hats. totes, and scarves as well. Each one of a kind, all sales final, etc., etc. PLEASE NOTE: This sale does not apply to everything at our booth. We will still have some of our regular stock, and the scratch-and-dent sale will end when we run out of sale items. The early bird get the (metaphorical) worm.

From 3 p.m. until 9 p.m., we will be in the same venue for the Durham German Market, which promises to be a traditional European Weihnachtsmarkt with lights, beer, brats, German music, and German dancers. On Sunday, Dec. 8, we will be at the Boylan Heights Artwork, from noon until 5 p.m. Our booth will be at 806 McCulloch (Inside Clean Advertising).

Terra Clotha wil be at the Durham Farmer's Market this Saturday, Dec. 23. Winter hours are now in effect, so the market opens at 10 a.m. and closes at noon. We have shirts, dresses and baby clothes in a wide variety of colors and sizes. But in case you have a last-minute gift need for a person whose clothing size you don’t know, we have a variety of items that don’t require you to know the person’s exact size. For example, we have two styles of napkins. We have dish cloths. We have tote bags. We also have aprons, which do come in general sizes, but as long as you know whether the intended recipient is either a child or an adult, we have you covered. Hand-dyed goods from Terra Clotha.
