Our Chapel Hill client gave us a sofa slipcover to duplicate for her vacation house. The old slipcover was a faded green and beige stripe. She chose natural and white Bull denim from from Big Duck Canvas. This twill canvas is wonderful to work with and has a pottery barn feeling to it. The sofa had 2 back cushions and 2 seat cushions. The sofa frame cover has a zipper in the back for easy on and off. We loved how tailored it came out. We also love the white piping contrast to the natural base fabric.

One of our favorite clients wanted custom seat cushions for her 4 dining room chairs and 3 odd chairs . We had a custom bench seat cushion for the dining room out of the green poly velvet. She had just enough green velvet for the tops and bottoms of the cushions. We found some green stripe fabric from Premier Prints to match the velvet. We then helped her find some red stripe fabric, also from Premier Prints, for the Windsor chair and 3 smaller off chairs. She wanted Velcro straps instead of fabric ties to keep the cushions on the chairs. We made paper patterns , then cut 2" foam, to create the foam inserts for the custom covers. She loves them and it makes sitting and working in her dining room much more comfortable! Thanks to Premier Prints for excellent fabric to complete this project!!

The antique needlepoint pillows were in sad shape. We gently washed and blocked them first. We ironed on interfacing to the back of the puss n boots and birds to protect the wool threads Then we sewed double piping in deep teal and hunter green. Finally we sewed each pillow in a boxed pillow style . The teal pillow has flat sides and the hunter green has gathered sides. Both pillows have invisible zippers and feather inserts. Our client loved the restoration work we did.

Our Durham client lives in a tiny adu. Her sectional chaise was interfering with opening her door. We cut the chaise cushion down into a sofa cushion and a separate ottoman cushion. Because we only had fabric from the chaise cover, we had to add a solid gray washable velvet to the bottom of the chaise cushion. We adapted the chaise liner to make 2 cushion liners. We then cut up the bottom of the ottoman fabric to make new sides for the sofa and ottoman. It took a lot of expertise to make the most of the fabric we had available. Now she can move the ottoman base and cushion to different parts of her living room.

Our client originally wanted Roman shades out of this fabric for her office. Instead we created inverted pleats on these 33" long lined cafe curtains per her new design choice. She will hang them with drapery hooks on an exposed rod. They turned out lovely!

Just finished a slipcover for a chaise lounge chair. The original cover was a cream color and the upper cushion was attached. In the next post we will show the before photos. What made this project time consuming is the striped fabric were curtain panels and every stripe had to match. We loved how it came out despite stripes deciding they were 3" wide on one panel and 2.5 wide on other panels.

Our West Durham client needed 3 new seat cushion covers and 11 pillows. The 2 circle and 1 oval seat inserts were 1" thick, so she decided to have us cut new 3" foam inserts. The old covers were a beige color and showed dirt easily. She chose a hunter green Sunbrella with a beige Sunbrella for the contrast piping. The 4 lumbar pillows are also a Sunbrella upholstery fabric. Thanks to Trivantage for such a great selection of Sunbrella fabrics for my clients! She was thrilled with her porch furniture look!!

A wedge pillow cover was just finished for a client. She chose an indoor/outdoor fabric that needed lots of pattern matching. The wedge was 24 w x 27 l x 12" high. When there are stripes, you need to "audition" where the best layout will be. We chose the green stripe in the middle of 2 wide red stripes for better symmetry.
The client loved it!
