This pair of fabulous turquoise green Plasto fern leaf lamps with matching gold splatter fiberglass lampshades..... I swore a lot under my breath when I saw them come in the door.

All the rage for decades, we've all had a trinket shelf of some sort to show off our collections. They hold thimbles, tea cups, figurines, all those tiny little dust collectors that make us smile!

We have the BEST TRINKETS in town to fill up your shelves with tiny things!

Healthy Iowa bees make delicious honey! We're all stocked with freshest honey, bottled just last week!

Our spring hive splits are thriving and few will be finding new homes with fellow Iowa beekeepers. With that comes a thorough inspection by the state apiarist, confirming that our colonies are healthy and disease-free. We appreciate the expertise of our state apiarist, who completed an inspection, performed a mite count, and provided perspective on any questions we had. Our colonies received approval for prospering healthy bees!

We've been happy to help others with items for any era or vibe for photo shoots, weddings, parties, even living rooms! We will gladly sell or rent out anything we have in the shop! Just ask!

Wayyy back in November, I was watching my favorite CBS Mornings and my favorite news correspondent, David Begnaud had a feature about author and traveler Seth Varner from Wandermore in Iowa. (Follow the link in the comments to the story.)

You know how I LOVE local, so I reached out to Seth via email about carrying his book at Savvy Salvage. At the time, he was between distributors and didn't have books available. We kept in touch and when he reached back out, I was closed for our renovations. Just a little back and forth and the usual hiccups all of us small businesses have, right?

Well, the wait is OVER! We now have signed copies of Seth Varner's "Wander More in Iowa" available for sale. We're working on a meet & greet in the future! Thank you Seth and Eliese!

It's the end of our Renovation Era! (for now!!)

It started with a dream and a question, HOW do we do this ourselves. Jay at Eastern Iowa SBDC had the step by step answers, or I would have never figured it out.

The dreams never end. We still have a basement and a rooftop to plan. But for now we rest, and DECORATE! I've had stuff in storage for 3 years!! (Oh, and eat only ramen and potatoes for a while!)
