I am honored to have had the opportunity to join 27 small and midsize mill owners at last week’s American Sheep Industry (ASI) Small and Midsize Mill Meetup. The value of being in the same room learning alongside other mill minds and industry leaders is immeasurable! We toured nearby Mountain Meadow Wool where they also make yarn, but much more than yarn was represented at the meetup. Can you think of other ways to use wool???

It’s always great to see and hear from Andrew from Belfast Mini Mills plus very helpful to chat with other BMM mills.

PS we also got an ice cream break, of course it was sheep milk ice cream 😋 thanks Mesta Meadows | Ranch

🐑🖼️🎨 We’ve missed a few months - see ewe this Saturday???

Special guest this month, local ceramic artist Malea Rhodes will lead a drop-in pottery pendant making activity. Drop by and give it a try! This will give you a taste of the button making workshop we’ll be hosting on August 15th.

Cozy couches, community, and creative vibes. Join us at the fiber lounge! Plus our pop-up shop offers yarn, roving, batts, felting kits and more.

Fiber Lounge: BYOP (bring your own project) where you can meet other makers, stay and hang out for a bit. Open Spin at 2:30, Fiber Lounge at 4, Stash Sale and Pop-up Shop the whole time (2:30-6pm). We’d love to see what you’re working on!

What an absolute joy to get to teach a footstool weaving class at The Carpenter’s Boat Shop! We nestled in among the in progress skiffs for a few hours of weaving with corded wool specially developed for seat weaving.

The workshop was led by Malinda Lesko (Easthampton, MA) and the oak footstool frames were handcrafted by her husband Ben Lesko, a former apprentice. This project gives the couple a chance to marry their interests of fiber and wood - and return to places they love 🫶 Look for them again in November!
