We live near a town called East Grinstead in West Sussex.
There is a church there called St. Swithins. The current building replaced an earlier one so it is ONLY about 200 years old.
We took friends to the prime meridian line (which also runs through East Grinstead) and then in to town to show them this lovely church building. It is a peaceful place to visit and capturing these beautiful little details brought me joy!

This ring came in the auction box lot and I can't decide if it is darling or ugly. First descriptive word that comes to mind is steampunk then time traveler. Could this be intended for someone who enjoys cosplay?
I can find this ring using visual search but the listings are all in asian languages so let's go with first impressions!

Gorgeous brushed gold vermeil sterling ball stud earrings. Marked 925 and Italy on the post and butterfly backs. There may be another mark on the post but my eyes can't make it out! I haven't been able to wear metal in my ears for years but if I could these would be staying in my personal jewelry. They are timeless!

Have you ever seen pendants with a clasp that opens? If so, it is actually called an enhancer. This gold tone and rhinestone Nolan Miller enhancer would look great with pearls or a similar tone golden chain. I had vintage black glass beads available so I paired the two pieces for pictures! Instant elevation of the beads without the enhancer overwhelming them.

Two brooches - one likely Sphinx and the other is signed WEST. Until now, I assumed West is a UK brand but it seems I was wrong. In searching for company information, I checked Jewelry Kalidoscope at https://nasvete.com/signed-west-vintage-costume-jewelry/ for WEST jewelry and ta da... there is my WEST brooch.
West was an American company established in 1935 and operated until the 1980's. Check out the link above for more information!

It's a Victorian brooch. It's a clip. It's a mystery!
Marked: Registered May 21, 1881. In the UK, the day come before the month so this could be from the United States or Canada. Top layer is sterling silver. Functional C clasp and strong spring loaded clip mechanism. Why put a pin on a dress clip or a clip on a brooch?
If anyone can tell me more about this piece, I would greatly appreciate it!

This MCM era "Hollywood" signed brooch pops with the bright red glass center cabochon surrounded by an modernist style border in silver tone metal.
Information from the Vintage Jewels Geek UK blog regarding Hollywood jewelry:
Vintage jewellery signed Hollywood was produced here in Birmingham (UK) by the Bloxidge Brothers between 1917 up to about 1972.
The writer goes on to muse about when the company began signing their jewelry and mentioned it was involved in a number of copyright court cases.
Hmm. In searching for my brooch, I found a Worthpoint entry for a VERY similar brooch by Henkel and Grosse. I wonder if this design was the subject of one of those copyright cases?
