I’m writing this as the owner of Pacifier Kids, and as someone who cares deeply about the people who make our stores what they are.

In the past month, two members of our team have experienced racist language from customers in our stores. In one instance, a customer used a racial slur about a doll. Hearing that this happened to our team breaks my heart. Honestly, it makes me want to close up shop rather than ask good people to face that kind of ugliness at work.

Retail takes a lot of emotional resilience. Our team shows up with patience, warmth, and care, even when an interaction is difficult. They deserve to feel that care from us, too.

To our team: I have your back. Period. If a customer’s words or behavior make you feel targeted, disrespected, or unsafe, you can pause the interaction, call for support, and ask them to leave.

Racism and slurs are not part of our values or the community we want Pacifier to be. We want every family to feel welcome here, and our team deserves to feel welcome and respected at work.

Hate is not welcome here.

A little behind-the-scenes peek at our October photoshoot! 🍂🎃

A huge thank-you to our adorable model, Marvel, for bringing all the smiles, sweet moments, and BEST energy to the set.

We had the best time capturing all the cuteness, and honestly, with a model like Marvel, how could we not?!

“We love supporting small businesses” sounds a lot better than “we have a shopping problem,” by the way. 😂🛍️

But in all seriousness, shopping small means so much more than just making a purchase. It means supporting real people, big dreams, and the little businesses that make our communities special. We’re so grateful to be part of your village and to be a small part of your little ones’ childhoods.

And if you ever need a shopping recommendation, help finding the *perfect* outfit, or someone to convince you that your little one absolutely needs that adorable new find… we’re always happy to help.

Being a small business owner in a nutshell 😂

A little bit of everything, a lot of figuring it out as you go, and about a million things happening behind the scenes that nobody sees. One minute you’re tackling your to-do list, the next you’re putting out a random fire you definitely didn’t plan for. Haha!

It’s never quite what you expect, but that’s all part of the fun, right?

When you just want to get in the fall spirit, but the weather has other plans. 🍂🍁

We’re ready for crisp mornings, cozy layers, pumpkin everything, and all the fall fun… but apparently, the weather didn’t get the memo.

So, we’ll be over here embracing all the autumn colors, playful prints, and cozy vibes while we wait for it to catch up.

Boring? We don’t know her. 🌈

We’re here for all the color, all the fun prints, and all the little things that make childhood feel a little more magical.

Because childhood is meant to be colorful. Full of bold prints, bright moments, big imaginations, and plenty of personality. We’ll always make room for a little more fun around here.

Holy moly. We made it to 22. 🎂

Okay, 22½ technically - but we were a little late celebrating one year and, honestly, it kind of stuck. Ooops.

Only about 1 in 5 businesses make it past 20 years. That fact makes us pause - in the happiest, most grateful way - because Pacifier got here thanks to so many people who have given this little business their whole hearts.

To our current and former team members: thank you for spending your Saturdays, evenings, holidays, and time away from your own families caring for other people’s families. You are the warmth, the magic, the gift-wrapping expertise, and the “wait, let me show you one more thing” behind Pacifier.

To our community: thank you from the bottom of my heart for choosing local. For bringing us into your baby showers, birthdays, new-baby days, big feelings, little milestones, and everyday errands. You have made our dream real, year after year - and we will never, ever be over it.

Twenty-two-and-a-half years later, the best part is still you: the families, the team, the stories, and the tiny humans who remind us why it all matters.
