Back from Portugal and a few things are clear…
I love being with my family more than just about anything. They all make me a better.
We also got to spend time with our Portuguese friends from The Lisbon Project. One of my favorite things about life is discovering that friendships can be built across countries, cultures, and oceans.
I have a stripe problem. There, I said it.
Blue remains my favorite color. Tiles, shutters, pottery, doors… And orange is becoming the next color I feel drawn to.
I also rediscovered how much I love wandering into a small shop with a story behind it. A founder. A craft. A point of view. Finding Porches Pottery and meeting the founder’s grandson was one of my favorite moments of the trip. And I live licking out plates with my on our anniversary!
Travel is always better when you have a really good book in your bag.
And let’s give credit where credit is due: my Birkenstocks, sneakerinas and the Vita necklace are quickly becoming my official travel uniform. They showed up every single day and never complained.
I’m also learning that if I pay attention to what I keep stopping for—a blue door, a striped umbrella, a pottery shop, a great book, friends I feel drawn too —it’s usually telling me something about what I love and the woman I’m becoming.
Portugal, thank you for the reminders. 💙🇵🇹
