Most disabilities are not visible.
You may see someone smiling at work without seeing the pain they push through every day.
You may see someone walking around a store without knowing that they will spend the rest of the day recovering.
You may see a person using accessible parking and assume they do not need it because they are not using a wheelchair.
Many invisible disabilities can cause fatigue, dizziness, chronic pain, sensory overload, cognitive challenges, organ dysfunction, or unstable joints, just to name a few.
None of those medical problems become less real because a stranger cannot see them.
A disability does not need to be obvious to deserve support.
Image Description: A square graphic framed by colorful watercolor flowers and greenery. Centered on a white background, black handwritten-style text reads, “Most disabilities are not visible.” Along the bottom are illustrations representing different health and mobility needs: a gray leg brace, a pair of purple and pink forearm crutches, and a small medical device.
