There's something special about a crescent moon that really sparks joy in my heart.
Maybe it's nostalgia related to the little person sitting on the cusp of the moon fishing in DreamWorks. Or, maybe it's the whimsical fantasy and magic of moon dust. Or, the magical rainbow hidden beneath the seemingly opaque exterior of the moonstone. Who knows.
What I do know, the crescent moon evokes feelings of joyful power and fancy for me. Paired with the twinkle of stars, and just forget about it. I'm Tinkerbell now. I spread magic wherever I travel.
Anywho, I've been craving a mixed media piece. But the idea for my next one slithered through the brush. I could only barely see its head for a brief moment, and then I'm searching everywhere to figure out where it went. I couldn't find it.
This morning, I watched a lovely hour long how-to tutorial for dreamcatchers. My main focus was learning how to weave the twine/wires inside the circle. Cool. I got that. Start to finish.
Then I stumbled upon a time lapse of a scrap fabric slash macrame crescent moon project. (I wish I could remember the artists names for both of these projects bc my mind was blitzing out!) I watched quite a few of her time lapse videos completely in awe.
Brain exploding. Ideas, ideas, ideas.
So, here we are. A merging of a few art techniques I've learned over the years, some very recently. And, my mixed media project line is cast. Bait attached. The fish population is high. And, I'm sipping a Cortado from the cusp of the crescent moon waiting to reel in my big fish!
