It’s Sunday, and most of the time I try to take a beat before planning for the upcoming week, but sometimes my brain says, “Uh-uh woman, you gotta keep going…” and on Sundays like that, when my brain won’t rest, I at least work in my pajamas in bed so that it is relaxing, or I find a local coffee shop and work there for a bit. It gives me a change of scenery and it doesn’t really feel like “work” after all.

What about you? Any advice for those Sundays when your brain doesn’t let you take a beat?

Raise a cup! It’s Sunday and you survived last week! But, before you head into your Monday prep, relax and enjoy your Sunday.

I’ve heard it said that it’s not happy people who are thankful, but thankful people who are happy. So in the interest of amping up today’s happiness quotient, I’m calling out three things, right here, right now, for which I’m grateful.

1. central air conditioning (it is currently 97 degrees F and climbing here in northern California)
2. ceiling fans in every room (see #1)
3. cold brew coffee in the refrigerator
