IT’S TIME TO GET AHEAD OF GLAUCOMA.

September 2026 marks Interventional Glaucoma Month, and Team Boling is coming together to lead a more proactive glaucoma conversation.

Our CEO, Hayley Boling, often reminds us, “When we know better, we must do better.”

And as an eyecare community, we now know more.

Research shows that 90% of people using glaucoma eye drops aren’t taking them exactly as prescribed, and nearly half discontinue them within six months. We know the lifelong responsibility of correctly administering daily eye drops creates a very real burden. And we know that, when appropriate, physician-delivered treatments help reduce reliance on daily eye drops and support a better quality of life.

These numbers aren’t evidence that patients don’t care about protecting their vision. They’re evidence that the burden of managing treatment correctly and consistently for life is very real.

Glaucoma care has evolved. It’s time for the glaucoma conversation to evolve with it.

Interventional glaucoma is a proactive approach that identifies the right treatment at the right time for each individual. When appropriate, physician-delivered treatments help reduce reliance on daily eye drops and lessen the burden that glaucoma treatment places on everyday life.
