I've never really shared why I started Nik's Optiks.

A lot of people know me as the girl with the fun glasses, but not many know the story behind them.

I was diagnosed with diabetes when I was 7 years old. I started wearing glasses at 9, and over the years I've had lasers, injections, and surgeries on my eyes, and more pairs of glasses than I can count. Even today, I still don't see perfectly.

Those experiences changed the way I think about eyewear.

I didn't start Nik's Optiks because I wanted to sell glasses.

I started it because I know what it's like to struggle with your vision, to wonder if your glasses are really right, and to wish someone would take the time to help you understand your options.

People often ask why I named the business Nik's Optiks.

Growing up, my mom always called me "Miss Nik." Every time she said it, I felt loved. It's a feeling I've never forgotten, and it's one of the reasons I hope every person who chooses Nik's Optiks leaves knowing they mattered.

My goal has never been to simply sell glasses.

My goal is to help people feel seen, heard, cared for, and valued while helping them make informed decisions about their eyewear.

If you've trusted us with your glasses over the last two years... thank you.

You're the reason I get to do what I love every day, and I pray Nik's Optiks continues to be a place where people know they matter.

I've been handed some doozies.

Just remember folks, it's actually really hard to truly break a pair of glasses, even if you sit on them. Don't give up all hope until you've had a professional look them over. Sometimes the puzzles get me going but those are the ones I love.

Have you noticed we've been a little quiet lately?

Don't worry... we haven't disappeared! We've just been spending a lot more time behind the windshield than behind the keyboard. 😄

Lately we've been:
🚗 Logging miles across Central Kansas delivering finished glasses.
👓 Stopping by senior centers to clean glasses, replace nose pads, and make adjustments.
🤝 Meeting with new clients to talk about their eyewear needs and help them find glasses they'll actually love to wear.

That's life as a mobile optical service! We don't spend all day sitting in a storefront—we spend our days bringing the optical shop to you.
