Over the weekend, Aaron and Cindy made the mummy from Frank and Friends by Riley Blake. Aaron posed the mummy (name TBD) on his classroom chair. He is now heading to the shop to make new friends with all of you!

This is a great project for kids of all ages. We cut, machine sew, stuff and whip stitch all together. Summer break is here and this project would make a special day with a loved one even better.

Sometimes you just have to stop and smell the flowers! Sandy loves gardening outside of quilting and enjoys her time planting pink flowers in her pots. 🌸🌺🌷

While visiting us in Elmore, make sure to stop at Elmore General Store for your houseplants (we see you plant mamas! 😉) and Bench’s Greenhouse for all plant varieties. We also carry some amazing flower, plant, and mushroom fabric if your green thumb is more a sewing thumb.

First Floral Reef by Tula Pink shop sample complete! ✔️

This is Anchors Aweigh! This pattern has been around since Tula Pink’s first ocean themed fabric line Salt Water. Sandy and Cindy saw Tula’s reimagined version (that she made for her sister) in her Zuma fabric line while at the National Quilt Museum in Paducah, KY last month. You can see it too all summer long! Make the trip!!

Cindy’s version highlights the blue fabrics from Floral Reef and uses blue and gray solids as the stripes. She can’t wait for Sandy to quilt it: anchors? 🤔

Last month, in anticipation of Tula Pink Floral Reef bag making goodies from Sallie Tomato, we made a huge improvement to our bag making supplies display. Thank you Isaac and Aaron!😘

We have hung as much as we could on this side of our Jaybird Quilts and Elizabeth Hartman triangle display piece. ❤️ We added Sassafras Lane Designs zipper tape and zipper pulls to enhance any project you are dreaming about. 🌈

If there is something you need but we don’t have, let us know and we can order it for you! We now also have all the cork and faux leather samples from Sallie Tomato so you can order exactly what you want for your projects. Just ask to see the samples; still trying to find the best home for the samples in our tiny shop. ☺️

Iiiiiiittttttttttsssssss TIME for the Biggest Week of America Birding!!!! This is meant to be read with an over the top announcer voice! 😂 I am excited!

We have re-stocked our loved Quilting is 4 the Birds Art East Co. quilt pattern. We are also showcasing Mia Charro’s bird fabrics. Mia is an amazing FreeSpirit Fabrics designer who blends animals, florals and whimsy together is sweet, soft, feminine fabrics.

We are open Wednesdays and Fridays 11-4, Thursdays 11-8, and Saturdays 10-2. Birds may migrate out of here at the end of the week but we stay and enjoy Northwest Ohio.

Cindy’s slow sew-a-long Big Woods style update. Cindy started the slow sew-a-long in December 2025 to stay one month ahead of the ladies who joined her in January 2026 along the Big Woods adventure. She finished block 5 last week so only one week late on her self set goal. 😅 Also, one of our regulars is ahead of Cindy. To each their own! 💪🏻🪡

In April, she sewed mushrooms and coneflowers which are perfect for the spring weather we have been experiencing. 🍄🌸🪻🌼

For the ladies who have just bought the Big Woods FreeSpirit kit from us: thank you! Cindy’s suggestion is to take one block/chapter at a time and watch Sarah Fielke’s videos. You can easily “catch up” or do your own self set goal! Enjoy!

Cloud 9 Halloween is on the shelf and fat quarter bundles are ready! This line is a sophisticated Halloween with the purple, black, white and orange colors. The artwork, especially the skulls, have us feeling Day of the Dead vibes. This line would be perfect in the witch’s hat pattern currently in stock. Stop in and feel this 100% organic fabric.
