Cindy is showing off her progress of her Big Woods quilt today. One positive thing done while staying indoors during the wildfire smoke AQI hazardous level. 🙃

The woodpecker is month 7 so officially on target to complete all blocks if she sews one a month by the end of the year. The bear and bees took her two months to complete! 😲 Mostly because of baseball games and being a mom and just a little because of redoing stitches when fabric shapes didn’t align. Sew happy with the end result.

Last month, after finishing the bear block, she sewed it to the skunk block. Lots of leaves still need sewed on before sewing on the house and owl blocks. Then more leaves. Almost officially halfway done! 👏🏻

We are mailing out one kit tomorrow to the opposite side of the country and we can’t wait for her to join in the fun. 😁 We officially have two kits left and one thread box left for sale. Once these are gone, they are gone for good!

Two weeks left until AOHSH starts Saturday, August 1.

Between selling Christmas fabrics, long-arm quilting, and just normal business, we were able to kit three more Graywork quilt kits this week.

Don’t forget today is the last day for Christmas Poppie Cotton and Lewis and Irene fabric lines. Next week different Christmas fabrics will be on sale and a different demo Thursday 6-8pm.

Despite the heat and wildfire smoke, we continue to cut, sew and create in the shop today. 🥵

We have amazing Christmas project panels that just have not seen their potential. One panel is from Lewis and Irene. This panel makes numbered stockings for either Advent calendar countdown or Christmas tree ornaments. The Poppie Cotton Christmas project panel also includes ornaments and quilt labels along with the Merry Christmas banner. The coordinating fabric lines from Lewis and Irene and Poppie Cotton are on sale this week only.

Sandy will be showing how to turn a normal panel into an apron tonight from 6-8. She is an apron queen!

Remember when Sandy and Cindy were on TV? We had a blast showing off all our Christmas items!

This week we continue celebrating Christmas in July with a “sit and cut a panel night” Thursday the 16th between 6-8pm. The Merry Christmas banner and stocking hanging from the front of our display are two of many Christmas project panels we have in the store. Sandy will also be showing how to turn a Christmas panel into an apron. This week’s Christmas fabrics that are on sale are Poppie Cotton (to match that Merry Christmas banner 😉) and Lewis and Irene Christmas fabric line.

Here is the latest Facebook post from FreeSpirit Fabrics talking about the 25th anniversary. I briefly mentioned this on last week’s video and here is a good jumping off point. Cindy is hoping to pick out her fabrics (including purple) this week at the shop. 🤞🏻We have our first Guicy Guice fabric line now in the store and she can’t wait to create with his beautiful fabrics!

Saturdays are for show and tell!

Today’s quilt is showcasing J. Wecker Frisch Classic Christmas fabrics sewed by Julie and quilted by Sandy. Today is the last day these fabrics are on sale for Christmas in July. The pattern is from Riley Blake.

We have been working hard over the last week to stage our All Ohio Shop Hop fabrics and goodies in the shop. We hope you take a second and zoom in on that picture to see all of the good stuff! The fabrics this year are batik and Sandy is sew excited to finally have an excuse to buy batik fabrics for the shop. 😁 The motto for this year’s shop hop is “Quilting and shop hopping mend the soul.” The motto can be found on the pink t-shirts, notebook sets, canvas zippy pouches, and stickers. We are also waiting on our shipment of boxes to hold all the notecards the shops are giving away to AOHSH passport holders. August 1 can’t get here soon enough. Remember magazines can be bought now but fabrics must remain in the store until 8/1.

Don’t forget tonight between 6-8pm we will be demonstrating the Jumbo Lazy Angle Ruler to make the Beach Ball quilt. The quilt takes 2 5” charm packs and these Classic Christmas fabrics are perfect! Showing off some of J. Wecker Frisch’s artwork on the yardage. All of which is on sale until Saturday.

Stop in to pick up the All Ohio Shop Hop magazine and see all of the amazing batik fabrics for this year. All of the goodies have arrived too. We have t-shirts, stickers, notebooks, and zippy pouches in stock. The notecard boxes are in their way. We can’t wait for August 1!

Not ready for Christmas in July? No worries! Here is Beach Ball quilt done in Tula Pink Daydreamer fabrics but would look amazing in Floral Reef. This would truly be a beach ball quilt!
