In anticipation and preparation of a Day of Mourning: July 4. Living in reality is painful, but for those seeking true liberation? It’s the only way. May all colonial projects fail. May we all collectively be free.

So, saw this thing about how our phone screens are “dimming” the very real color in our world because everything is so saturated and exaggerated. She says this gal turned her phone to be black and white and she started to notice that the real world started to become more vibrant. Like the trope of “childhood used to feel so much more colorful”. According to Jo - “bitches color is cool, embrace color, color is human, the fact we can SEE COLORS WTF IS THAT ???? Eyeballs man, so cool.” So anyway, here are some images that will make real life color less colorful so get off your damn phone and go outside 😉 🫂 And if you do, say hi to all the colors for us, and maybe you’ll even notice something new about color psychology and how colors affect our moods and lives.

All flatlays by - which colors should she flatlay next? 🌈 I’m interested in the color theory of yellow and orange, myself.

All info from the American Psychological Association and Very Well Mind.

Today is Juneteenth - and as Cole Arthur Riley said “The memory is one of tension - grief as we remember this country has a history of proclaiming liberty while doing nothing to tangibly ensure [Black peoples] protection until it benefits whiteness.” Racism is very clearly alive and well in America. If you feel you truly have liberty, than as the great Toni Morrison wrote, “the function of freedom is to free someone else.” If you feel you are free, share the wealth. Support mutual aid, pay reparations, support Black-owned small businesses.

The psychology of color 🌈 is my new obsession. A little exploration of color psychology inspired by flatlays. Sources: the American Psychological Association and Very Well Mind. I couldn’t decide if maroon was maroon or burgundy or maybe even a little mauve? What colors should we explore next 🚀?

Headed to Leucadia this summer? 🌊 We’ve got so much more to offer than just our beautiful beaches. Check out our hyper local neighborhood guide - featuring our Leucadia, California favorite small businesses and haunts. Eat, drink, browse, wander.
