Swami's Beach Clothing Collective is located in the beautiful beach city of Encinitas, California. Our clothing reflects the spirit of Swami's Beach, one of the most famous surfing beaches in the world. The name of the beach comes from its proximity to the Self Realization Center, which was built by Yogananda Paramahansa, a spiritual teacher and guru, who came to Encinitas in the early 1900's. He

was inspired by the beauty of the beach and the energy of the unincorporated Cardiff/Encinitas area to build his center and home overlooking the beach. As Yogananda Paramahansa was a teacher, the word, "swami", is a word given to Hindu religious teachers and also used as a title of respect.
