Volunteer Spotlight: Chelsea

Chelsea volunteers with Gowns with Grace because she believes something simple but powerful: every student deserves to go to prom. Money, social status, or life circumstances shouldn’t stand in the way of such a special milestone.

For her, one of the most meaningful parts of the event is seeing the community come together to care for teenagers — a group she feels is often overlooked. Watching so many girls leave the church with dresses in hand was a moment that filled her heart.

Chelsea didn’t attend a traditional prom, but she did go to a large homeschool spring formal that everyone lovingly called prom. She went with her sister, her best friend, and her boyfriend — who is now her husband of 11 years — making memories that have lasted a lifetime.

Her favorite dress style?
Anything with a full tulle skirt — because every girl deserves to feel like a princess for a night.

Chelsea says she has loved being part of this mission and can’t wait to watch Gowns with Grace continue to grow. ✨

Our Gowns with Grace prom dress donation drop-off is happening today from 8 AM – 2 PM at the Grace Fellowship Church Community Yard Sale.

If you have a formal dress, shoes, or accessories tucked away in your closet, today is the perfect time to pass them along so they can become someone else’s prom moment.

We are accepting:
👗 Clean, full-length formal gowns (all sizes welcome — especially plus sizes)
👠 Heels & dressy flats
💎 Formal jewelry & accessories
👜 Clutches and small handbags

⚠️ Donations can only be accepted during the event today, so please do not leave items outside.

While you're there, be sure to check out the community yard sale — someone else’s junk might just be your treasure.

Tomorrow is donation day!

If you’ve been meaning to clean out your closet or pass along a formal dress you no longer need, tomorrow is the perfect opportunity. Gowns with Grace will be collecting donations during the community yard sale, and you’re welcome to shop and donate in the same visit.

Every donation helps us prepare for next year’s prom season. Thank you for supporting this mission.
