before cottagecore had a name, there was Gunne Sax. 🕊️
Born in San Francisco in the late 1960s and made iconic in the 1970s, Gunne Sax became known for romantic prairie silhouettes, Victorian-inspired details, lace, gingham, puff sleeves and sweeping skirts.
These were the dresses of an era — worn to dances, weddings, graduations and everywhere a girl wanted to feel just a little bit magical.
More than 50 years later, original 1970s Gunne Sax has become highly sought after by vintage collectors and increasingly difficult to find, especially in beautiful, wearable condition.
And this one? Cream. Navy gingham. Delicate lace. Puff sleeves. That unmistakable Gunne Sax silhouette.
Rare vintage isn’t about recreating the past.
It’s about getting to wear a piece of it.
