Specializing in custom made dresses and costumes, alterations, and sewing lessons. I have been sewing since I was a little girl.

I have 9 years experience sewing ballet costumes for Lake Erie Ballet. I have done numerous show including The Nutcracker and The Wizard of OZ. I am now branching out and growing my own business. Over the years, I have had the joy and honor of making special dresses for brides. This one is different. This dress was made for my beloved daughter to wear on her wedding day. Together, we designed this dress just for her. While the appliques and lace on the train were purchased, the trim along the edge of the lace and on her veil were handmade by me. All together, there's roughly 9 yards of handmade lace. The buttons down the back were from my grandma's button jar. The fingerless gloves and the blue flower embroidery were made by my daughter. (Doesn't she do beautiful work!)

The first 7 pictures were taken by me. The photo credit for the rest belong to Ashlyn at ACD Photography. Ashlyn was my daughter's tap teacher 15ish years ago. It was so special to have her be part of this day.

Beautiful You Sewing turns 10 today!! It's been a big year with lots of projects and I even took on an employee! (Ok. It's my cat, but she still "helps" sometimes.) Some of the project I can't show yet cause I don't have pictures, but let's just say there are a few wedding dresses I'm excited to show you all! I will post about them once I have pictures 😊

Here are a few of the many projects that were done this year. There were also so, so many alterations. Thank you, thank you for your continued support! It means so much to me!

I met this young lady during my days at Lake Erie Ballet when my daughter was dancing. So hard to believe she's graduated high school! She was looking for a special dress to wear to her senior prom. It was a honor to make this dress for her and red looks so good on her! (Please excuse the orange color on the one picture. Cameras don't always see colors well 😊 )

I will be closed until July 12th. Going to visit some family, work on a few projects around the house, and not talk to my sewing machine for a bit. (We've been spending a lot of time together and we need a break from each other 😅)

Last Call for Prom Dresses!

Just a reminder, I am only accepting Prom dresses and Bridesmaids dresses for May weddings until April 15th so get your appointments scheduled before it's too late!

I will be accepting Bridesmaids dresses for June weddings until April 30th.

Because my daughter is getting married in May (and so I can enjoy her wedding and have a little rest afterward), I am not scheduling any appointments in May.

Prom and Wedding Season is almost here! This means that I will soon have glitter and sequins all over my floor from all the pretty dresses. It also means I'm working on my daughter's wedding dress!

So a few reminders for this busy season:

1) Please remember to not wait to schedule your fitting. Prom dresses and Bridesmaids dresses for May weddings, I must have your dress in hand by April 15th. I am accepting Bridesmaids dresses for June weddings until April 30th. Because my daughter is getting married in May (and so I can enjoy her wedding and have a little rest afterward), I am not scheduling any appointments in May.

2) You don't need to wait until you have your dress to schedule your fitting! Once you know when your dress is arriving, you can get your fitting scheduled. If your dress comes and fits perfectly, then you can always cancel your appointment.

3) Remember to bring your shoes!
