first day of school is just around the corner!!! and if you’re still looking for an embroidered backpack, a sweet little sign for your first day pictures, or something special to make the morning feel a little more theirs, look no further!

there’s something about those first day of school pictures that makes my heart so happy. the backpacks that are somehow bigger than they are, the brand new shoes, the nervous little smiles, and all the excitement for the year ahead.

saturday nights like this feel like a little love letter to summer. ♥️ an embroidered bandana, my favorite turquoise ring, folk music drifting from a front porch, and a community showing up for one another.

porch fest is one of those magical reminders that the sweetest moments are often the simplest! knowing every dollar supports a local schools’ Family Resource Center makes it even more special.

i can’t think of a dreamier way to kick off a busy couple of weeks. 🤍

with a little help from my mom, i made shirts for my volleyball team. three sessions in, we've realized they never quite have enough shirts or the right sizes, so it felt like the perfect excuse for a little diy

our team motto has become "we're just here to have fun with friends," usually said somewhere in the middle of a losing streak. so obviously that's what had to go on the shirts. this was such a fun little project and one of those reminders that some of the best things are the ones you make yourself.

still. Adverb: continuing to exist or happen despite everything.

a tiny word that carries so much.

a reminder that no matter what, there is still today. there is still tomorrow. there is still hope, joy, laughter, love, and light.

while stitching this bandana, I couldn’t help but think of Love Island and KC’s “still i rise” tattoo lol. but it also brought me back to Maya Angelou’s words:

”Just like moons and like suns,
With the certainty of tides,
Just like hopes springing high,
Still I’ll rise.”

maybe that’s why this little word feels so powerful. it’s quiet, but it’s resilient. no matter what season you’re in, there is still something beautiful ahead.

one of the most special projects of the year that i’m so excited to finally share!!!!

this spring i had the opportunity to alter and embellish my brother’s solo costume, the raven. ravens are often seen as symbols of wisdom, resilience, and transformation, and i honestly can’t think of a better fit for ben. he’s full of wisdom far beyond his 17 years, with a resilience and determination that inspires everyone around him.

ben found this incredible costume through a catalog, and after LOTS of trial and error, i was able to create raven-inspired wings that extended from the arms. we eventually cut the legs off the original costume, reconstructed the hands, and slowly watched the vision come to life.

this project pushed me far outside of my comfort zone and taught me so much along the way. every challenge became another opportunity to learn, experiment, and create. definitely one of my favorite projects i’ve had the chance to be a part of. 🖤

a little change of pace ✷

surely not as aesthetic as i’d like it to be, but i tried creating something new and i’m really glad i did. i used buttons and thread to make the happiest little sunshine tank for the sunniest of days

it ended up being far less time consuming than i anticipated and just as cute as i hoped. i think i’ll definitely be revisiting some button work because there’s something sweet about mixing textures and making tiny things feel special.

hey there!

i’m still over here. trying my best, of course.

i’ve been a little quiet lately. not because i’ve disappeared, but because life has been full in different ways. still busy as ever, just spending my time trying new things. repurposing old art that might have otherwise ended up in a landfill. spending time outside. taking care of plants. taking care of myself.

i think every season of life brings you exactly what you need, whether you know you need it or not. this summer, i’m hoping to slow down a little. spend more time at the craft table. learn some new skills. i’m determined to sew the most adorable bag and the dreamiest pair of gingham wide leg pants. stay tuned.

then again, maybe none of that will happen, and that’s okay too.

for now, i just wanted to pop in and say hi. thank you for being here, whether you’ve been following along since the beginning or just found this little corner of the internet.

i’ve definitely been a little quiet here lately 🤍 i try to be really mindful of when embroidery starts to feel like a job instead of something that brings me joy.

my sweet friend welcomed the sweetest baby this fall, and he needed the perfect easter basket. something timeless that can grow right alongside him.

this piece really challenged me. i learned how to create a basket liner from scratch, and getting to embroider his sweet name on it at the end made it all the more special.

moments like this remind me exactly why i love creating. 🤍
