My name is Laura Nelson, but growing up, my family always called me "Laura Belle". I've loved drawing and art all my life, but really fell in love with painting while taking classes in college. I love finding old "junk" and giving it a new life. I also love finding bargains, digging and "picking" for fun, unusual things. And I love seeing people enjoy the new things and art that I create!

Well….I got it done while Lonesome Loyd was out mowing! Had to remove the shelves and wall boards out of the closet, remove boards from the living room side and pull out nails, remove part of a stud, build a spot for the nook to sit, then reinstall the wall, and install the nook. 😅🥳

I opted to hang it higher than it probably would’ve been originally, but I like being able to see it better!

Starting on a new project, and it’s solely because I love it, and wanted one in my Okaloosa Cottage 💚. Lonesome Loyd and I found it at a j***y sale (the best kind!) and I’ve held onto it until I was ready to tackle it. Actually creating the spot in the wall is going to be the biggest part of the project, but…I have a “plan”. 😂🤣. Who can guess what color I’m painting it? 🤭

Where it started…
There was a small metal building (with a bathroom, washer/dryer hookups, and a “kitchen” area) on our property when we Lonesome Loyd and I bought it. It was 432 square feet. 😳! We moved it to the back of the property, remodeled it and lived there while we figured out what to do: build? Modular/manufactured home? Container home? Shed conversion? We even considered just getting an RV and traveling. Then the Lord put the wheels in motion for this little cottage to become our home. 💚

With all that Lonesome Loyd and I have had going on the last couple of years, having a garden again has just not made it...

I’ve had this outdoor set for probably 20 years, and I would give it a fresh coat of Rust-Oleum metallic paint every year or two. It’s probably been 7-8 years since they’ve had a refresh! 🫣. Now they look kinda like new again….if it’ll just get cool enough to sit outside!!
