For the last couple of weeks, every time I am out front I think to myself, and I know its me - but I look around thinking something is different. Something is missing. Something changed that I didnt change. I haven't been able to put my finger on it bc the last few weeks theres a lot of different things out front and out back. I talked myself out of thinking anything other than the changes of things being bought & sold, new things coming in, etc...
This morning, probably bc I finally was having a slower, much needed calmer morning & my brain was working -it occurred to me a bicycle had been stolen. Sometime between June 29th and July 6th, someone was bold enough to hop on the bike I had sitting out front and just ride away.
We have been so busy doing shop projects, life & all its charm, working the bingo fundraiser and finishing up the Firefly Cabin- I really thought I was just imagining something was amiss out there. Lack of sleep will 100% mess up your brain!
Sadly my cameras won't go back that far, so to whoever decided they needed that bike- you got off this time...next time you will NOT be so lucky! Take that as a challenge if you dare- just know I have always leaned to the crazy side. It runs deep in my blood 🤷♀️
Thankfully, in the 4yrs we have been in this location this is only the 2nd theft, and the 1st one happened in the store. Those people know who they are, they know I know & I enjoy messing with them "just enough" when I see them anywhere-that they won't ever steal from me again! Hopefully they wont steal again period but ya know...people🙄
All that and I need to add, we are SO thankful for all the great peeps we have who bless us with their presence in the store. Wether its sewing, those who are just checking it out bc you've never stopped before, people looking for a specific piece and know if i dont have it, I can at least point you in a good direction to find it.
We appreciate you, YOU are the reasons why I dont lose complete faith in the human race. There ARE still good people in this world and we are so lucky to see & know so many of you! Thank you!
Also if you find a pink schwin beach rider style bike in a ditch -it might be the one that someone needed so bad to steal -quite sad because if they had only asked, I probably would have let them borrow it. Ive loaned tools from here so many times, to save someone from having to buy a whole drill for a small repair cause they forgot to bring the drill from home with them.
I will NOT loan you my sewing clients clothes tho! Idc what the reason is, wont happen! 😂 iykyk
