Hey friends!
I’ve been working on getting this small texted clean. The client is trying to make a decision on which text size they want. 3mm is not as clean as 4mm. The 4mm will be between the letter Y”. I thought I had a picture but guess I didn’t take one. I think the client, who has supplied the shirts, is excited to see the finished work. Front logo and business moto.

Hello all,
We finally completed our first restoration quilt. In one of my earlier post this year, I included a few pictures of this old quilt. There was lots of planning as to how we were going to fix this quilt, and then finding the hidden quilt under the old backing, added a few extra steps, in what to do with the pieces that could be salvaged.
We choose the best of the squares, from the hidden quilt, stabilized them with fusible stabilizer, and hand stitched them together. Phyllis does really nice hand stitching. 🤩 I don’t have the patience for those little stitches. 😤Once the hand stitching was done, we reinforced it with another pice of fusible stabilizer. The completed piece came out to be a 20 1/2” X 20 1/2”. Nice size Wall Hanging. I think our customer is planning on framing it.
For the main quilt, we asked the customer for a couple pair of her old jeans, that we could add to her dad’s quilt. We felt that using her own jeans, to her dads jeans, would add a settle-mental meaning and makes the quilt more special for her. We cut small patches, from the two different pair she provided us and put them on areas that we were concerned about, that might separate or create a hole in the quilt with future use or washing. Using a blanket stitch all the way around the top of the patch, securing it well, so not to fray and protect the original area. We also secured the back of the quilt top, with some fusible stabilizer, to help the old jean fabrics stability. Once the front was completed, it was time to attach the new backing. It was a velvet like material. Heavy and soft. We matched the two half’s together, so that it looked like one continuous piece. This was a little more difficult because of the material, but I think we did a pretty good job meeting the two sides together. The original quilt was Hand Tied together, and we found a skein of yarn, that was very very close in color, to the original on used, so we got down on our hands and knees to complete the last step in restoring this quilt. I was proud of our completed work. We are sure she will get many more years out of this settle-mental quilt and we were glad to have the chance to make it look almost the same, by adding her jeans to stabilize it and make it stronger for all the future use.

Hello my Bound By Stitches followers! I’m sharing a post by My Creative Stitches page, that shows one of the quilts I quilted for a customer. I’ve not attached or shared before, so I’m hoping it comes across. If not, you can go to her page and see the quilt showing the new triangle designs they created for me, to do this quilt. Enjoy!!

When looking through my pictures, I realized that I had not posted this finished quilt we received to Longarm. So, here is a small baby quilt that we found the perfect edge to edge design, to go with the quilt blocks. Thank you Zodi, for being a return customer and giving me the opportunity to quilt this fun, beautiful quilt.

One of our friends, gave us her heirloom quilt to restore for her. It’s special to her because it has her dad’s jeans in it. Because the backing was in such bad shape, we discussed replacing it with something new. After tearing it apart to replace the backing, we found a surprise under the old backing. Another hand stitched quilt top. My friend didn’t even know it was there. As you can see if this photo, some of the fabric has totally disintegrated. Because the fabric is so fragile and is dusty from the old batting, it is really hard to work with. We have done a lot of sneezing for sure. LOL. We are afraid to even try to wash it and a Dry Cleaner does not want the responsibility of possibly ruining it. So, this restoration process has been taking a very long time. We are hoping to get a few nice blocks out of the old quilt too and put back to gather to make a wall hanging. I will post more pictures after we get the original quilt done, and hopefully have a nice wall hanging too.

My sister’s finally opened their Christmas presents and I can post the quilts I made them. I started working on them at the end of Sept when business was a little slow. One is from the Abergine kit and the other was Jason Yenters Dragon In the Beginning collection. I took a Twin size quilt kit and using the same line of fabric, created my own King size quilt. That planning took me longer to do then it took me to put the quilt together. The Abergine kit took me longer to make because of all the points. I think I did a pretty good job putting them together. I used my Janome Skyline 5, Janome Continental M7, Janome QMP18 pro stitcher and my Janome 15000 to make these quilts.
After I completed the quilts I created my own labels and pillow shams using some of my extra fabrics. I got the Abergine kit from Keepsake Quilting and the In the beginning kit from One of our local fabric stores Paramount Sewing. My sister’s loved them.
