Vendor Spotlight!

Today were are spotlighting Himes Handworks by Robin Himes

"I am a lifelong crafter who grew up with many, very creative people. I have always loved making things. I taught art for 31 years, and have continued to find ways to be creative since my retirement 9 years ago.

I work in a variety of media, and I like to try new crafts and techniques. Currently, I am working in watercolor acrylic clay and fabric.

I share my Christian faith through my paintings, using my favorite Bible, verses and my love of color and lettering. My current watercolor style is a technique that I learned in college and have come back to. It is fun to do, and I like the randomness that comes from letting the paint flow across the paper.

I have recently returned to quilting and really like the immediacy of seeing a project come together. This is carrying on a quilting tradition. From both my grandmothers.

Working in clay can be challenging for me, but I find that it is more rewarding as my skills continue to grow. I really like creating hand built forms, but I am pushing myself to develop more skills in wheel-throwing.

Sharing my artwork with others is a relatively new experience. And I hope that people looking at items in my booth enjoy what they see and take them home."
