TK Sewing Machine Repair

TK Sewing Machine Repair This business was started in April 2020, I found myself at home 24 hours a day, with nothing else to do with my time. We work on all mechanical sewing machines.

Our mission is to get new seamstresses into working machines that fit into their budgets and to bring to life Vintage classics. If the machine has a computer board in it, we can tackle the mechanical issues, timing tuning and cleaning, but not the computer boards. We seek out machines that are good machines for the beginning seamstress. Let us know what type of projects that you plan on tackling,

we will help guide you to the best fit for you. If you are an experienced seamstress/quilter, we have sewing machines that can fit your needs. We service all brands of sewing machines and sergers. Feel free to contact us for any of your sewing machine needs.

Today I spent at Evant market days, set up as a vendor, selling my baskets.

Received this picture from a lady that purchased one.

I hope she bought it for the kitty.

Recently finished this little 99. It was a complete refurb. Replaced a lot of parts. The whole bobbin area was completely rusted together. It took a lot of work to get the race, hook and bobbin case unmelded. Once I broke all those parts free, they were taken out and replaced. The bobbin winder was completely bent. I suspect that the machine had been dropped. The base of the machine was almost completely rusted. Soaked in a rust remover, then sanded the bare metal, finally sealing with shellac.

Turned out pretty nice. Most importantly, the machine works and makes a pretty stitch.

Hello!! I have been pretty busy the past couple of weeks. Lots of gardening! Growing food for us and our bees. This year has been particularly hard with the lack of rain. I spend the first couple hours of the day managing water.

Anyways, my Youtube channel is nearly half way to being eligible for monetization. If you have not already, could you subscribe to my channel? It would help me reach that goal.

I will be back to sewing machines in the next day or two. Wont be doing as many live videos. But the posts should amp up a bit.

Thank you all for sticking with me!!

Pictures of my pumpkin patch. If you would like to keep up with beekeeping or gardening, we have pages chronicling those journeys too.

One of the other things that I do that takes up a lot of my time and energy, is gardening. I got a bee in my bonnet, and decided to make a bug hotel.

You may see sewing items that have been integrated into the habitat. Notice the awning?? LOL It is housed in an old stinky sewing machine case top.

Next is a Mason bee house

Almost got all the paint off of this customer repaint. After the paint is removed, it will go into a rust removal bath. It is hard to tell from this photo, but there is a bit of rust on the body of the machine. It needs to be removed before being painted.

I use a product called Ospho. It removes the rust and prepares the surface for painting.

I will be painting 2 machines this week. This one and a VS2.

My mom has had a couple of surgeries in the past 5 months. She is not able to do the things that she has done all of her life, including sewing.

It is so weird that my mom cannot sit behind a sewing machine. She got me behind our old Singer 66 when I was 5 years old. I took her scraps and made doll clothes. She has made suits, my entire wardrobe until I was 14, and most of her clothes. Now she cannot do it anymore.

She needed some loose fitting tops. So, I went through my fabric stash, found a couple of patterns in my pattern hoard that would work for her, she is 5'. I am 5'8".

Made these two tops this afternoon. Going to pop them in the mail tomorrow.

I also made myself a pair of capris and a top yesterday.

I did all the sewing on my old Kenmore and vintage Babylock. Love those machines.
