two years ago, i attended a few of seungyeon's dance workshops and handmade some of my favorite designs for her. ever since then, i’ve gotten to watch the pieces travel the world alongside her, moving through her dancing and day to day life. as someone who creates jewelry inspired by music and movement, it means more to me than i can explain seeing something made by my hands worn so freely and loved so genuinely 🤍

2년 전에 승연 언니의 댄스 워크샵에 몇 번 참여했었는데, 그때 언니를 위해 제가 정말 아끼는 디자인들을 직접 만들어드렸어요. 그 이후로 제가 만든 액세서리들이 언니와 함께 세계 곳곳을 다니고, 춤추는 순간들과 일상 속에 자연스럽게 함께하는 모습을 볼 수 있어서 정말 행복했어요. 음악과 움직임에서 영감을 받아 주얼리를 만드는 사람으로서, 제 손으로 만든 작품이 이렇게 자유롭게 착용되고 진심으로 아껴지는 모습을 보는 건 말로 다 표현할 수 없을 만큼 큰 의미로 남아요 🤍

𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗹𝘂𝗹𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻?

i moved to the dmv area on new year’s day in 2024. during a time where i felt completely out of my comfort zone, i started looking for ways to feel at home.

for a year, lululemon was my home, i found some of my closest friendships & found my way back into dancing. i had opportunities to dance alongside incredible dancers and choreographers like Howl & Seungyeon. even though i had never worn lululemon before moving here, it quickly became part of my everyday life and my staple for dance classes and workshops. pieces like the dance studio cargos, steady state zip ups, scuba hoodies, & align tanks became part of every dance class and master workshops.

𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗰 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘁𝘆 𝗷𝗲𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗿𝘆?

ngoc novelty officially started in 2019, but dance has been part of my life for as long as i can remember. creating jewelry became another extension of storytelling & connection for me. every piece was designed to feel personal, nostalgic, & intentional. made to feel, made to STAY.

for me, dance & jewelry were never separate parts of my life. i loved being able to move freely in dance while still expressing myself through the pieces i created and wore. ngoc novelty became a reflection of that balance between movement, creativity, & individuality.

𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗹𝘂𝗹𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻 𝘅 𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗰 𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘁𝘆?

this collaboration feels like my never ending story. every part of it connects back to the person i’ve become through dance, creativity, connection, & growth.

thank you to everyone that helped make my first skztape possible and to everyone that came to show me love and support 🖤

i've been on + off active the past year struggling with the chronic pain from my endometriosis & finding a balance for my anxiety + depression in the midst of layoffs ;; even with everything going on, skztape reminded me how much my love for skz and stays has never changed. i was able to reconnect with so many friends i haven't seen in years and i'm so happy skztape could bring us together again 🩵

love, dreams + skz & skztape made me truly feel like i was at home with those who love me most! march will always be a special time for me & i'll always remember the love i received and will continue to share it with the community 🤍
