A year ago, Renee saw our flyers around town.

Less Laundry, More Living.

Last week we gave away $2,214.

Three days before school started, we ran every washer in our laundromat at 50% off. 528 loads. Over 17,000 pounds of comforters, uniforms and backpacks.
The math looked bad on paper. Here's why we did it anyway:

August is the most expensive month of the year for a family with kids. Uniforms, supplies, fees — and a mountain of laundry nobody has time for.

We discounted the washers and held dryers at full price. Clients washed big and dried everything. The promotion covered itself, and our busiest day was the last one, after word had spread.

But that wasn't really the point.

We bought this laundromat in 2022 — a 30-year-old shop with mixed equipment, right as a brand-new competitor was breaking ground down the road. Plenty of people told us the timing was wrong. We saw it differently.

You don't beat a bigger, newer store on machines. You beat it on being the business that showed up for the neighborhood in the week that mattered.

528 loads washed. Hundreds of families who got a little of their week back. That's a number I'll take.
