Don't be alarmed if you don't see my new-to-me electric blue Rav4 parked at the shop. Last week I got t-boned at a four way stop (hurt my left hand, it's not broken but quite sore, thank heavens for seat belts) and the other person's insurance (completely their fault) still hasn't contacted me after a week, so I have no clue as to when I'll get my car back. At this rate, lawyers may have to get involved.

Well, today, under Donald Trump's direction, the last penny was minted (the cost of minting a penny is more than one cent each, but I wonder what the cost is per use, which is probably minuscule, which in my humble opinion is more important). Back in March, he also directed that all payments to the Federal government had to be done digitally, no checks, no cash. Is this going to lead to all financial transactions having to be done digitally with cards? I don't know; but I fear we are heading to a cashless society where the card companies will get a piece of every financial transaction and all financial transactions can be tracked by big business and maybe even the government. Most people (unless you own or operate a business) don't realize that even debit cards cost businesses money. Big business is less concerned because they deal with the card companies directly; whereas, small businesses have to work with a third party processor which means small businesses pay approximately double what big business does. Last month my overall merchant card costs were 2.351% and an average of $1.45/charge (and the processor I use is on the low end of cost). If you wonder why some businesses charge extra if you use a card? That's why. If using a card is the only game in town, the card companies will most likely gradually increase their fees. Congress has tried in the past to rein in card fees but the card companies just keep adding small fees here and there. Tacking on a .005% fee doesn't sound like much, but it adds up and if you think about the total number of card transaction, the card companies are making out like bandits with the potential for even greater profits. Just my humble opinion.

Four new ones from Clothworks. The tan-ish one is suppose to be representative of a bird's nest.

If you look for my little silver car to see if I'm at the shop or not, please switch your thinking to a electric blue Toyota Rav4 - I finally have my new car!

A new shipment just arrived that includes a new 108" backing. It is selling for $21.45 per yard, which sounds like a lot; but if you divide the price by 2.4 (108" divided by the regular width of 42"/45" fabric) it equalizes to $8.49 per yard. Less expensive per yard and no piecing - what's not to like!
