UpLaced UpLaced: Recycled and Upcycled Small Goods The UpLaced story is a mix of magic, chaos, and love of the game. My solution was to use their old hockey laces.

My boys play hockey and I wanted to make something useful that they would have to remember their experiences on the ice. My first hockey designs were pillows out of the boys' old hockey jerseys but the open v-neck of the jersey presented a problem. The simple solution to fill in the missing material on a pillow cover took on a life of its own when I discovered that I could make material out of lac

es, and with this material create small goods. Pillow covers led to wallets, card holders, key fobs, zip pouches and more! As a busy mom, and hockey supporter my creations have found their way to many charity events, as well as end-of-season gifts for teams-and now here! I hope that they bring as much enjoyment to each person who uses them as I have creating them.

I’m excited to announce that UpLaced will be at the Very Merry Holiday Craft Market presented by Unglued and Drekker Brewing Company this Sunday (December 10) from 12-6pm at Brewhalla in Fargo.



I’m Kathleen, the Owner and Maker at Uplaced. The UpLaced story is a mix of magic, chaos, and love of the game. As a hockey mom and sewist, I wanted to make something useful that my boys would have to remember their experiences on the ice. UpLaced offers handcrafted ornaments, wallets, card holders, key fobs and pouches made from upcycled and recycled hockey laces as well as fabric gift bags, reusable gift tags and ornaments from my favorite hockey fabrics. For the Very Merry Holiday Craft Market we will jolly it up with our hockey gift bags, reusable gift tags, ornaments, and hockey lace gifts. Finney and Roo will also represent with handmade fabric gift bags, gift tags, and ornaments.

What you’ll find at the Market:

Reversible gift bags in our favorite hockey fabrics. Our bags are an eco-friendly alternative to traditional paper gift wrap. Mix and match to create a set of bags that reflect your unique style.

Reusable gift tags that pair nicely with our bags and allow you to personalize gifts without the mess of paper and tape. Use chalk or chalk markers for your special message – the tags wipe clean for use again and again. Our reusable gift tags also work great as stocking tags and basket tags.

Handcrafted tree ornaments, perfect for gifting for special occasions or to simply add a personal touch to your home décor.

Ornaments, wallets, key fobs, and zip pouches handcrafted with using new and used (clean, but imperfect) hockey laces.

Reusable gift bags and gift tags are now available in my shop!

Gift bags come in 4 sizes. Reusable felt gift tags are included with bags and also sold separately. The tags have a patch of chalk cloth fabric for your “to/from” or a special note. The chalk cloth wipes clean with a dry (regular chalk) or damp (most chalk markers) cloth so you can use them again and again!
