It's was a long time in the making but on November 9, 2012 we officially opened the doors of The Urban Cottage in Faribault MN. Formerly the home of Hoffman Printing, the storefront had been empty for years as evidenced by layers of cobwebs and an unfamiliar oily film that clung to the heavy cedar planks covering every
wall from floor to ceiling. In the loving hands of my children, my husband, my sister, and their friends, the building began to take on a new life - a rebirth. "Frosting on the cake" had to have been the beautifully hand stenciled black and white damask walls - my lovely daughter-in-law is truly an artisan. My son sacrificed many hours and days away from his family while working to transform the once abandoned storefront into a beautiful retail environment; my younger son, my daughter and my sister were also instrumental in this amazing transformation. We are truly blessed and very grateful! From the inception it's been our desire to carry merchandise that's fun, trendy, eclectic as well as items that promote Christian morals and values.
