Long before Schaefer Farms excisted, an old woman known only as Baba Bushka lived alone in the deep forest. Travelers whispered that she was a witch who could hear every cruel word, every lie, and every act of selfishness carried on the autumn wind.
People feared her because those who mocked the old, stole from others, or treated children and animals poorly often disappeared into the woods. When they returned, strange things followed them for weeks—bad luck, missing socks, sour milk, broken wagon wheels, and nightmares filled with glowing yellow eyes watching from the trees.
