SODIUM Metasilicate-
What is this magic ingredient in my line of cleaning products?
Well, it’s a non toxic and eco safe. Not just eco friendly- ECO SAFE.
It is synthesized by fusing simple sand (silica) with sodium carbonate (soda ash), meaning it contains zero volatile organic compounds (VOCs) or synthetic toxins.
Replaces Harmful Phosphates: Traditional detergents often rely on phosphates to soften water, which cause toxic algae blooms when washed into waterways. Sodium metasilicate softens water safely without harming aquatic life.
Exceptional Grease Cutting: Its high alkalinity naturally breaks down stubborn lipids, proteins, and oils. This eliminates the need for aggressive, petroleum-derived solvents or toxic synthetic surfactants.
Prevents Dirt Redeposition: It works as an excellent suspending agent, keeping lifted dirt floating in the wash water so it gets rinsed away rather than settling back onto fabrics or dishes.
Natural Metal Protection: Unlike other basic compounds that corrode appliances, it forms a microscopic protective barrier on metals, extending the lifespan of dishwashers and washing machines without using toxic anti-corrosion additives.
This ingredient is the reason my cleaning supply line is packaged in chemical grade plastic containers. It is made from silica, which is the same mineral glass is made from. It does have the ability in High strength to degrade, etch, or cloud glass containers.
Because I am not a risk there in general- I chose plastic because I do not want to risk glass damage for my customers.
As of right now you can purchase this in a soap free laundry cleaner, and an all purpose cleaner concentrate that has to be diluted before use. I sell a 16 oz bottle of concentrate that makes a full gallon of finished cleaning solution. I also make two things that go along with the soap free laundry cleaner. I make a powdered oxygen booster that has to be added “along with” and can’t be mixed together. Because the actual oxygen action causes fizzing and bubbling and that needs to wait until your laundry is in the machine, not before you ever use it. I also have paired it with a fabric softener that is non toxic, eco friendly and will allow the beautiful scents of the essential oils to be added to your laundry in the rinse cycle.
Every time I tried to add enough scent to the laundry liquid to remain on the clothes- the sodium metasilicate cleans even the intentional scents out of the clothing!!!! Which honestly- not a bad thing.

My goal- I am currently working towards creating an all concentrated cleaning line. Same ingredients, but concentrating them down to smaller amounts by formulating them with as little water as possible so you can store more easily and use as you need it without the big jugs. So stay tuned for that in the later future.
Meanwhile- it’s for sale. It’s affordable. And it works better than any non toxic soap free laundry cleaner I have ever used. And I’ve tried them all. No soap means HE washer SAFE-! No build up in the washer and if you have a stainless steel drum it actually helps keep all film and build up, broken down and clean. !!!!!
