FREE SEWING CLASS! 🧵✂️
We’re excited to participate in Teach the World to Sew Day™ 2026!
Have you always wanted to learn to sew? This is the perfect opportunity to give it a try — absolutely no sewing experience is needed!
Participants will make a beginner-friendly quilted sunglasses case while learning foundational sewing skills including quilting, top-stitching, sewing curves, and assembling a lined project.

🧵 Come sew with us for a good cause! ❤️
Our September Thursday Charity Sewing project is all about making something special for little ones. We’ll be sewing Krinkle Tag Pads for babies and toddlers to donate to Santa’s Helpers.

You don’t have to be an expert sewist to help! Beginner sewing skills are welcome, and all materials will be provided. We’ll be working together using basic straight stitching and zigzag/overcast stitching.

This is a FREE community sewing event, but please register so we know how many people will be joining us.

🧵 Want to learn to sew? We have just TWO spots left!

Our Thursday Beginner Sewing: Machine Basics (Level 1) class is already FULL, and there are only 2 spots remaining in our Saturday class!

This class is designed for the absolute beginner. You'll learn how your sewing machine works, how to properly thread your machine, when and how to adjust your settings, and how to sew a straight line with confidence.

✨ No experience needed

✂️ Bring your own sewing machine if you'd like, or use one of ours

One of the things we love about our Beginner Sewing Series is that you don't have to purchase the entire series at once. Take one class at a time, learn at your own pace, and continue into projects like pillowcases, throw pillows, pajama pants and more as you build your skills.

✨ We’ve been getting the shop ready for fall sewing! ✨

One of the things we love most about STL Sewing Exchange is giving previously loved fabric a new home. That will always be a huge part of who we are.

But lately, you all have been keeping us busy, and our cotton shelves were getting pretty bare! With fall projects, quilting, holiday sewing and cooler-weather creativity right around the corner, we wanted to make sure we could still be a great resource for you.

So we did something a little different.

We went out and purchased a beautiful selection of cotton fabrics to add to the shop! 🧵💗

They have officially arrived, the shelves are filling back up, and we are getting everything ready for you.
