Look who’s wearing a Baby Shop find 🥰

Little Miss Coco is one of our sweet CHIP babies, and her mama told us this adorable outfit came from the Baby Shop! One little outfit, passed along from one family to another 💞

Thank you for donating and helping keep our baby shop full of love (and really cute outfits)!

Floyd, what are y’all doing with all these 4T & 5T kids?! 😂 Is there a mud-pit party we haven’t been invited to?? 👀

We’re running low AGAIN on boys and girls 4T & 5T clothes! Especially, pants!👖

If your little one has outgrown these sizes, we’d love to give those clothes another life.

We recently received the sweetest email from a mom who visited us with her 5-month-old, Marley 🥹

While Mom was shopping, Marley started getting fussy. Our wonderful volunteer, Suzanne, offered to hold Marley so Mom could take her time and shop. Afterwards, Marley’s mom wrote:

“It made all the difference in the world. I felt like I didn’t have to rush, I wasn’t worried like I usually am that my baby is crying in public, and I left with supplies that will be very helpful to us at home.”

Thank you, Sydney, for sharing this beautiful moment with us, and thank you, Suzanne, for caring for our neighbors in all the little ways that matter 💞

Hours:

Mon: 10–12 & 1–3

If you can't make it in, give us a call during our open hours and we will leave a care package by the front door for you 🛍️

🏆 Congratulations, Kali! 🎉

We could not be more proud to celebrate Kali Hatcher, New River Community Action’s 2026 Volunteer of the Year! 🥇🥳

This recognition has a beautiful full-circle story behind it:

Kali’s journey with New River Community Action began years ago as a Head Start student. Later, when she became a mom herself, she joined CHIP, our home-visiting program.

Kali loved being part of the CHIP family so much that she decided she wanted to give back.

And give back she has ❤️

Kali became a volunteer at the Floyd CHIP Baby Shop, and her kindness, dependability and genuine love for Floyd families quickly became impossible to miss. When another volunteer can’t make a shift, Kali is often the first to step up. She cares deeply about keeping the shop running, making families feel welcome, and making sure this little community resource continues to be here when a family needs it.

Her dedication recently earned her another role: Lead Volunteer for the Floyd CHIP Baby Shop.

And now, Volunteer of the Year!

From Head Start student → CHIP mom → Baby Shop volunteer → Lead Volunteer → Volunteer of the Year.

That is community coming full circle 💞

Kali truly represents what CHIP is all about: families growing stronger, supporting one another, and turning around to lift up the next family.

We are so incredibly proud of you, Kali. This recognition is so very well deserved.

Thank you for everything you pour into our Baby Shop and our Floyd families 🫶

Congratulations, Kali! 👏👏👏👏👏

✨ Volunteer Spotlight: Meet Suzanne ✨

Suzanne began volunteering at the Baby Shop because she wanted to give back to her Floyd community. Her favorite part is meeting other parents and their children. She loves seeing those smiles after they find just what they needed.

As a mom herself, Suzanne wishes something like the Baby Shop had been available when she was a young mother. “Being able to take home five outfits each month would have helped me immensely. And that is only one small part of what the baby shop offers!”

Through volunteering, Suzanne says she’s learned that there are beautiful people here in Floyd who truly want to make a difference.

What she hopes for the Floyd Baby Shop? "That every family leaves with more than clothes and supplies...they leave knowing they’re surrounded by a community who cares about them."

When she’s not at the Baby Shop, Suzanne loves reading, learning new things, and baking her delicious carrot cakes! 😋

And we can’t spotlight Suzanne without mentioning one of our favorite things about her: she loves to clean! 😂 If you walk into the Baby Shop and everything is looking especially clean and tidy, there’s a pretty good chance Suzanne has been there!

Thank you, Suzanne, for your kindness, thoughtfulness, and all the care you put into our little shop and the Floyd families we serve. We’re so grateful you’re part of our CHIP Baby Shop family 💗 We adore you!
