We are blown away!!!

After our May donation drive ask, donations started pouring in and we are just beyond grateful.

Diapers, wipes, clothes, and so much love filled the Baby Shop this week.

Thank you for showing up for families and children in such a big way. We want to hug each and everyone of you!!

Our May donation drive is still going through the end of the month if anyone would still like to contribute.

✨ Volunteer Highlight: Meet Debbie Akers ✨

Debbie started volunteering when she heard we needed help 🙏 and she’s been showing up with her big heart ever since.

She’ll tell you volunteering gets her out of the house, but we see something more. We see how she cares deeply for the baby shop, we see it in how hard she works, and we definitely see it in the way she makes families feel the moment they walk in. Debbie has a warm, nurturing presence that can make anyone feel at ease.

When she’s not at the Baby Shop, Debbie enjoys designing on her Cricut, creating resin pieces, getting lost in a good book, playing games, and spending time with her grandbabies.

Debbie told us her sweetest moment so far at the baby shop was when a little girl came in and found a dress she loved. The girl immediately ran over to Debbie to show her. Debbie told her what a beautiful dress she picked out, and the little girl smiled, stood straight, instant confidence growing, and said, “This will be my church dress.”

What Debbie wishes more people knew about the baby shop?
"I wish more people knew about it. It's free for all families and the fact that they can shop once a month is really helpful cuz we all know how fast kids can grow!"

We agree. We wish more people knew about the baby shop, too.

Open every Wednesday 10am–Noon 🕙 We are here for all Floyd families with children newborn through 5T. Shop for FREE once a month.

Kids grow fast, and sometimes it just helps to have a place to find the next size up. We have gently used spring and summer clothes ready for you to browse 🌷 ☀️

✨ Volunteer Spotlight:
Meet Teresa ✨

Teresa is one of those people who not only show up, but go above and beyond. She volunteers at the Baby Shop because she believes no child should ever go without. And recently, she didn’t just show up, she poured her heart into making sure our shop was ready for families.

During our seasonal changeover, Teresa stayed well beyond her normal volunteer shift, helping us sort, organize, and get everything ready for spring and summer. Because of her extra time and effort, we were able to get so much done and open our doors to a more organized, cleaner, and brighter shop! Her heart for this community and her dedication to showing up for families is something truly special to witness.

When she’s not at the shop, you’ll find her enjoying working on jigsaw puzzles with her husband, and if you’ve ever chatted with her, you know she might talk a little fast sometimes, creating new words (as she puts it 😄), and we think it's the most adorable thing ever!

What she wishes more people knew about the Baby Shop?
"There are so many resources available, especially through the CHIP program, and the quality of items here is truly top notch."

But what really stands out about Teresa is her beautiful heart. She shared:
“When you touch a heart, it will always be remembered.
I’m the one being blessed just to be a vessel to help others.”
That’s the kind of person who makes this place what it is.

Because of volunteers like Teresa, families in Floyd can come shop for their children at no cost and feel supported, cared for, and seen.

We are so incredibly grateful for you, Teresa. Thank you for being a part of our village.
