Furniture Rescue

Furniture Rescue Saving unloved furniture one piece at a time! I rescue used, unloved furniture and give it new life. Stop in!!

When you buy a piece from me, please remember that it is USED and has been loved before it came to me. Though I spend a lot of time working on the pieces and giving them a new "do", each will still have it's own unique marks and wear that gives it character and makes it special. :-)

We're nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Appalachian Mountains, so whether you come in on St Rt 149 or St Rt 331 you'll be treated to some gorgeous scenic views!

My name is Kim, and I collect old drugstore treasures...and apparently I have no intention of stopping. 😂

Seriously though, my dad opened a drugstore and ran it in the 1960s thru the 1970s when he sold it.

I don't collect much anymore....I've been trying to sell off most of my stuff, but I can't seem to let go of the old pharmacy items...maybe because they remind me of my dad and working along side him at the store counting pills and stocking shelves.
Dad wasn't the only one that ran a drugstore either. Back in the late 1890s and early 1900s my great grandfather owned a drugstore in Indiana complete with a soda fountain!

Why do we collect the things we do? Is it in your blood? Does it fascinate you? What is the pull?

So now I'm curious...
What do YOU collect? Vintage Pyrex? Depression glass? Old tools? Books? Coins? Salt & pepper shakers? Anything at all?
I'd love to hear what fills your shelves—and what made you start collecting in the first place!

Here's a picture of just a small portion of my collection. Show me yours!

"The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry."

When I first moved into the booth, I had a vision of exactly how it would look and how it would grow. Then reality stepped in. Things didn't sell the way I expected, ideas that seemed perfect fell flat, and at times I felt like I was just spinning my wheels trying to find my footing.

After having a large store for so many years, adjusting to a booth has been more of a challenge than I expected. A store gives you room to spread out, create displays, and constantly reinvent the space. A booth requires a different kind of thinking—every inch matters, every piece has to earn its place, and creativity has to fit within a much smaller footprint.

But sometimes the detours are where the good stuff happens.

Lately, my head has been full of ideas. Some old, some new, and some that probably showed up at 3 a.m. when I should have been sleeping. I'm looking at the booth with fresh eyes, and pieces are finally starting to come together. For the first time in a while, I feel like I'm finding my rhythm and heading in the right direction.

The booth is still evolving, and so am I. That's the beauty of small business—you learn, adjust, reinvent, and keep moving forward.

Thank you to everyone who has stopped by, offered encouragement, shared a post, or made a purchase. Your support means more than you know. If you haven't visited in a while, stop in and see what's new. I have a feeling the next chapter is going to be a good one.

Available in my booth soon!
This is a hand-made 4 drawer dresser that someone put a lot of time into. While not perfect, it would be great for linens, underwear and socks, and more. The drawers are 5" deep.
It measures 30 wide x 18 deep x 53 tall.
I've given it a much needed update with Farmhouse Paint in the color Turbo Thyme. I also added new pulls in brushed nickel. Available in my booth soon!!

Still available!!!

Still available!!!

For the lovers of all things dark and beautiful... 🖤 This one-of-a-kind gothic dresser has been given a wicked makeover. Skull details, black accents, and just a touch of red romance.
If you've followed me for awhile you know that my daughter, Chelsea and her fiancé, Zane, worked with me a couple years in the store redoing their own pieces of furniture for sale.
Now they're at it again! However, this piece is NOT in my booth. If you are interested in this dresser we can make arrangements for pick-up in Flushing. Message me!
Don't sleep on this one......it won't last long!
