Two One-of-a-Kind Filipiniana Dolls ❤️🇵🇭
I wanted to share something a little different from my usual alteration work at American Cleaners.
These two porcelain dolls belong to my dear friend and sister in Christ, Barbara Huntington . For the first doll, I created a modern Filipiniana outfit. For the second, I wanted something completely different—a traditional Maria Clara-inspired Filipiniana.
I made and changed many pieces until the second doll finally matched what I had pictured in my mind. I even shortened one of my own long barong skirts so I could use the beautiful piña fabric for her blouse.
Many of the fabrics, lace, trims and “bling-bling” came from remnants I saved from years of alteration work. The embellishments, beads, sequins and pearls were added by hand. ✨
Barbara now has two truly one-of-a-kind dolls, each made especially for her.
My little label says it all: “With Love & Care.” ❤️

A little project made with love ❤️
I wanted to share something a little different from my usual alteration work.
My dear friend Barbara bought this porcelain doll at one of our church benefit sales. She asked me if I could make an outfit for her, and I told her I would.
Well… it took me a while! 😄 I made and changed several different pieces because I had a picture in my mind of what I wanted her to look like, and I wasn't satisfied until I got there.
Finally, she became my own version of a traditional Maria Clara-inspired Filipiniana doll. I even shortened one of my own long barong skirts so I could use some of the beautiful piña fabric for her outfit. I added the pañuelo, layers of fabric and lace, hand details, pearls, and of course a little bling-bling. ✨ And yes—she even has handmade un**es underneath! 😂
Everything was made and fitted especially for this one doll. On the back I added my little label: “With Love & Care.”
Today I finally gave her to Barbara. Seeing how surprised and happy she was made all those hours of sewing, changing my mind, taking things apart, and starting again worth it.

Finally finished!!!

A very special wedding gown transformation 🤍

This gown was originally custom made by the bride’s grandmother for her mother—a piece filled with love, history, and generations of memories.

For her wedding, we carefully preserved the bodice and completely reimagined the rest—removing the sleeves, skirt, train, and lace appliqués to create a timeless new look for the next generation.

Seeing the original gown and being trusted with something so meaningful was truly an honor.

The most special moment was watching the bride, her mom, and her grandmother all fall in love with the final gown together 🤍

She is now ready for her big day this month ✨

This is what we are talking about. My mom's neurologist still trying to make that HE can't be wrong. So, he still send mom to see a doctor to see if that's maybe some kind of dementia.
