Hand stitched and have the sensitive & bloody finger tips to prove it. Don't get me wrong, machines are amazing and make things easier and more efficient. They are definitely on my wishlist. But until then trying my best to preserve the craft/art one needle prick and profanity at a time. ***yes the perforations are not centered, it's for my own hat anyway.

Six weeks ago my life took a change. For 23 years I was in some form of coatings and construction management. I was dreaming of a way to spend my time working with my hands and making hats. My husband and I were mapping out our finances and planning how I could take that leap. forwarded me a post that set into motion my dream. I met with Blanton’s Boot and Hat and instantly knew I wanted to be there. Here we are a little over a month later and I know that not even the sky is our limit together. Ever wonder how a hat starts out? here it is. This is known as a hat body. You can get them preformed which then you're only required to shape.
In this case, you can tell the hat is loosely in the shape of how it should look. Lots of steam. moisture, time, pressure, and profanity willl be used to get it to the next point. Then comes the other 30 steps in between you and your hat.
