Good evening, neighbors! πŸ’™
Just a reminder that the St. Francis County CARE Center is a part-time agency and is normally closed on Fridays.
However, for emergencies or private one-on-one financial literacy counseling, I will open the CARE Center on Friday by appointment only. If you make an appointment with me, please keep it or contact me if something changes. I am happy to make myself available to help, but communication is very important.
If you know you have an immediate need going into the weekend, please call or inbox me before Friday whenever possible so I can try to get you taken care of. And good news, our CARE Center phone is back working! πŸ“žπŸ’™
If you are serious about making financial progress, I am serious about assisting you. If I can't help, I know someone who can. Let’s do it! We are here to help, and we simply ask that you respect the time set aside especially for you.

Rest in Peace, Dolly. 🀍
Dolly Parton spent her life seeking and sharing joy. The Salvation Army honors her life of service, love for Christ and all His children, and her musical brilliance. Thank you, Dolly, for showing others what it looks like to put that faith into action.
Our prayers are with her family, friends, and all who are mourning her loss.

The SFC CARE Center & the Story of Stone Soup
I often compare the work of the SFC CARE Center to the story of Stone Soup, when everyone pitches in just a little, together we can accomplish so much more for our community. πŸ’™
A special thank you to Edwards Cash Saver for donating bags to the CARE Center, and to the kind neighbor who stopped by yesterday with additional bags. We were already closed when she arrived, so unfortunately I didn’t get her name, but please know we appreciate you! Every bag, every donation, every volunteer hour and every act of kindness adds something to the pot.
When a community comes together, there is enough to make a difference.

Sometimes people come into the CARE Center simply needing a quick meal, a little cool air, and a moment of comfort. We will always do what we can, sometimes that means food, basic necessities, a kind word, and prayer. But please remember: Forrest City does not have an emergency homeless shelter. If you are considering moving here and you do not already have stable housing, family, or a support system in place, please reconsider. especially if your current community has a shelter or transitional housing program. Use those resources until you have an opportunity to get back on your feet and make a safe transition.
I wish I could offer more, but sometimes all I can provide are comfort items, a meal, resources when available, and prayer. πŸ’™πŸ™πŸ½

πŸŽ‰ Happy Birthday, Maurica Dooley! πŸŽ‰

A very Happy Birthday to my friend and a true Leo Queen! πŸ¦πŸ‘‘
Instead of spending the day being celebrated, Maurica spent her morning volunteering at the St. Francis County CARE Center. When our head food volunteer, Sandy Cook, was unexpectedly sidelined by an injury, Maurica answered the call and came in as reinforcement to help serve our community.
And because that’s just who Sandy is, she still stopped by briefly to check on things, make sure everything was running smoothly, and then headed home to rest. That’s the heart of a volunteer!
Thank you both for your servant hearts and for always putting our community first. Maurica, we hope your birthday is filled with as much love and kindness as you share with others.
Happy Birthday my friend!!!! πŸ’™πŸŽ‚

Good morning, neighbors!
A few weeks ago, I shared that we had to upgrade our internet service after AT&T discontinued the copper phone lines that our office relied on. We switched providers with the understanding that we would be able to keep our longtime phone number. Unfortunately, after nearly a month of waiting, we were informed on Thursday that our number cannot be ported as originally promised.
I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. I've spent countless hours on the phone with multiple companies trying to find the best solution while working to keep our original phone number, the one so many of you have used for years.
In the meantime, if you need assistance, please send us a message here on our page or come by between 9:30 -2:30, Monday - Thursday. We are still here and ready to help.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this. The good news is I believe we're getting very close to a solution that will allow us to keep our original number. I'll share another update as soon as everything is finalized.
Thank you for your continued support of the St. Francis County CARE Center.
