Noboby likes being on the mountain, in some amazing snow, and a hole in your jacket or pants, a busted zipper, or even a backpack busted strap just gives you a bad day.

When nature calls…right!?!

All jokes aside, this is one of our favorite things to do with what we have created. Hike to a seemingly pristine area, find all the micro-trash and other litter around, and pack it out.

Today we journeyed up the Lake Agnes Tea House just outside of Banff & Lake Louise Tourism and got to work. For as much traffic as this trail sees on a daily basis, its very clean, but we always try and help where we can.

We learned at the top that since the area is in such extreme fire danger, that they are packing out all trash down the trail as well from the tea house, so we offered to take a bag down for them.

Throughout our hike up and down the 4 mile trail, we filled our Waste Basket and Rubbish Bin with as much as we could. A lot of people saw what we were doing and asked if we worked for the parks service. “Nope, this is just what we do” we usually reply. Sometimes we get stares, sometimes we get high fives.

It really is amazing how clean these trails are with the amount of multi-cultural travelers this area sees. Way to go National Parks Canada for helping to keep this area so beautiful!

We are OOO till August 12th.

We got married back in the Covid days of 2021, and we promised ourselves we would take our honeymoon trip some day. Well…today is that day.

We are headed up to Canada to ride the Rocky Mountaineer Train from Banff to Vancouver, then head up to Squamish for another wedding. Of course we’re gonna check out some gear shops along the way to get some inspiration.

We will be ready to repair all your gear and fix your zips when we return.

Sometimes there’s just a lot of material that comes with it. This Marmot tent needed its rain fly window fixed, and fix it we shall. Stiched and sealed to keep that rain out.

Everyone knows we need all the rain on the ground that we can get right now.🌦️

Somewhere around mile 7, headed up to American Lakes, we stopped counting the miles and started counting the trash.

A crushed can. Someone’s dog bag left on a tree stump. A gel packet. Some microplastic. All of it went into the Waste Basket 2.0 clipped to our dog’s leash — our little upcycled trail companion made from reclaimed tent material that didn’t even know it was on a 10-mile alpine hike.

The high alpine doesn’t need our leftovers. Clip one on. Pick it up. Keep loving the outdoors.

We’re still away from the shop for a couple of days recharging. You can take the repair crew away from the yarn, but you can’t take the yarn away from the repair crew.

This gusset tear almost cost someone their favorite piece of gear.🧊🧗

These pants had been on every climb , every ice wall, every accent — and one tear almost ended it all.

Instead of tossing it, the owner wanted them brought back to life. Good as new. Ready for the next adventure.
