I was selling online, at pop-ups, and sewing every day… and my inventory was a complete mess.

I needed one system that could track everything automatically.

The only problem? I don’t know how to write spreadsheet formulas. πŸ˜…

So I asked Claude to build the spreadsheet for me. Here’s the exact prompt I used πŸ‘‡

β€œHelp me create a stock tracking spreadsheet for my handmade bandana brand. I need several linked tabs: a Stock tab with one model per row that automatically calculates physical stock, sewn stock, sold stock, and a total available for sale (physical stock + remaining fabric that can still be turned into product). A Fabric tab where I enter the available yardage per model and the fabric quantity needed per item, to calculate how many more pieces I can make with what’s left. A Production tab to log each sewn batch, and a Sales tab to log each sale with its date and channel (website, pop-up, or other). I don’t know how to write formulas, so automate everything with simple formulas I won’t need to touch.”

Now everything updates automatically: inventory, remaining fabric, online sales, and pop-up sales.
